Apparently, Niang received a nice birthday gift: his contract is now renewed until June 30, 2017.

I must admit, I had serious doubts about him because of the off field trouble he had, but since then it seems as though he's been more focused on his game and developing. Also, there's no doubt he's got potential and the club have shown faith in him by renewing his contract.

Maybe it is also due to the fact that other players seem to be around him ?
ELS said Niang was someone he appreciates and he helps him to learn Italian ... De Jong and Emmanuelson seem close to him too (funny joke by De Jong to Niang for his birthday). If the first team players help him to mature (mentally), then, he will maybe become a good/very good player without the problems of Balotelli who maybe lacked that at his time in Inter (and Ibra is definitely not the good example to follow for a young player).

Niang is better than Balotelli, says AC Milan president Berlusconi

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi believes that youngster M’Baye Niang is better than Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli.

The Rossoneri have been heavily linked with the Italy international, whose topsy-turvy temperament and below-par performances have seen him fall out of favour at the Etihad this season.

And the San Siro chief explained that he has faith in the promising talent at his club, and hopes that the team will become a world-class side once more with the next few years.

"We sold [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva [in the summer] for monetary needs, but the others left for age reasons," Berlusconi told Radio Mars.

"Our goal is to return as a big team in three years' time, to start a new cycle with [Stephan] El Shaarawy - who is an extraordinary player - and Mattia De Sciglio, who will become a champion. Niang is better than Balotelli."

After making the same claim earlier in December, the Milan president also proclaimed himself as the greatest president in the history of the sport once again, and insisted that the club should still be considered one of the best in the world.

"We're the team who won most international trophies, we are the most successful team in the world," Berlusconi added.

"I'm the most successful president in the football history, and in second place there is [former Real Madrid president Santiago] Bernabeu, who has a stadium dedicated to him."

Niang almost scored his first Serie A goal today against Udinese.

I thought it was Balotelli shot that hit the bar.

He was unlucky to not score there.. He shot it really well but it had contact with one of Udinese defenders making it hit the crossbar, soso unlucky. Also, that one on one with the goalie off that perfect pass from Balotelli could've been taken better.

TO me, Niang is already a pretty complete player at only 18 years old he's got immense talent.
