What next? Uruguay president will announce that it all was a scam, that Chiellini didn't even play that day, and what Suarez bit on the pitch was just a snack bar? :d

I called it first!!! Devilol Well, he didn't exactly say what I "predicted" that he would say, but still. Sagrin

Quote:FIFA World Cup 2014: Uruguay President Jose Mujica defends Luis Suarez after biting incident

Uruguay's President Jose Mujica came to the defence Wednesday of his country's star footballer Luis Suarez who is at the centre of a World Cup controversy for biting an Italian opponent.

"I did not see him bite anyone. But they give each other so many kicks and blows and normally they put up with it," the president told reporters.

He described Suarez, Uruguay's star striker who could be banned if found guilty, as "an excellent player."

at least he only said that he didn't see him bite. compared to Lugano, Tabarez, and Uruguay FA, he is like a saint already. :d

Nice video Big Grin

I respect the will of Uruguayan in protecting their hero and hope.

And Suarez tried to bite Chiellini a year ago:

After Materazzi tricked Zidane into a headbutt, now we have Chiellini. Good job. Only if the ref were not a fucking Dracula...

Suarez's 2010 handball was heroic. This 2014 accident was pure idiotic.

Many people criticized/attacked him in 2010, but I agree with you fully. Okmilan

I do not think Suarez's act in 2010 was heroic as it is the thing every player should do. In fact, there was another Uruguayan player also reached out his hand. And if Gyan's penalty went in, his act was forgotten easily.

So I think he helped his team, and only so.

His whole performance in WC2010 was heroic, not the very incident, IMO.

Lots of news coming out about Balotelli's issues with the Italy squad and Prandelli. There are stories going around that Prandelli told him to change his attitude at half time, otherwise he'd sub him. Balotelli reacted by muttering something which annoyed Prandelli (I think the report said he told him to shut up) and decided to sub him immediately.

Bonnuci was also apparently on the verge of hitting Balo, while De Rossi was also furious at him:

Finally, apparently players in the Italy squad were also annoyed at Balotelli's Panini sticker tweet:

I'm actually worried about the influence this guy will have at our club this coming season.

So the reason Prandelli mentioned Balo as part of a failed project was his attitude, not his performance.

Just personal opinion. I think Milan should be patient with him and protect the big boy. He has been with us for just one and a half season, and is still our most value asset. And this is the time he needs protection the most.

Everything is up to Pippo now.

EDIT: according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Prandelli decided to quit because some senatoris don't support him. De Rossi and Buffon who led the Juventus players didn't like the WC player list without Giuseppe Rossi, the quiet headquarter in Mangaratiba, attitude from Lorenzo Insigne and Alessio Cerci, and his protection for Balotelli.

The riff between senior and younger players, the thinly-veiled criticism of playing like a real men and not some Panini sticker, the main striker went straight to the team bus, the coach immediately resigned. Is Italy the new France team?

Players can not pick teams. That is something that is never acceptable. And Italy as a whole was/is overrating Rossi.
