8M for a quality Midfielder is a steal. I wonder if we'd ever be willing (because I know we are definitely able) to match that valuation.

I wouldn't say it's a steal, as Real got him only for about 10m and he's not done anything since moving.

Is it a way to draw attention away from him and to put less pressure on him? Sounds fair. Let us not hype him too much and destroy his potential; he is just 14 after all, this media pressure may break him before he even signs his full contract with us...

I would say this hardly draws attention away from him, it's everywhere in the press. If anything, we should have dealt with it quietly and let his next examination pass.
