How much can u save for swapping Ibra and Silva with Kaka, Rossi, Zapata, Sahin/Hernanes?
The fact that thry didnt just sell Taiwo, Mesbah, Robinho and Mexes to cut spending is beyond me. Since thats easily 25mil transfer fees plus about 25mil wages save.
I think we all know exactly why we didn't sell them off. Its already been said before: Milan's policy has always been to buy low and sell high. Last year who flopped big time on the CL stage? Mesbah was absolute crap, Mexes had maybe one good game, but then he had a lot of shocking performances to offset that. Binho's shooting was atrocious and half the season Taiwo wasn't even in the squad. Yes we could have sold them, but it wouldn't be in B&G's best interest. Whereas Ibra came off the best scoring season of his life, and Thiago's absence literally cost us the league (from up, 4 points, to trailing 4 in two weeks), the cup (extra time loss) and the CL (we really missed him playing against Uefalona). Two important pieces at the peak of their powers, who would they sell off ? Even a four year old could see it coming.
