Who knows how much longer he can play?(06-12-2012, 02:51 PM)Warro Bantan Wrote: When Berlu took over Milan, he was acting just as Abromovich and the Arabs are now; buying players for exorbitant amounts, and paying them ridiculous wages.
Whether it's the fine, FFP, or other reasons, he can't (or won't ) try to compete with them...he has consistently balanced the books from his own pocket, but seems to refuse to pay overly inflated salaries and transfer fees....and i honestly can't say I blame him.
That said, he should look to sell a portion or all of the club, if he isn't willing to at least keep us competitive.
I also think that Arildonardo in his post above makes a valid point....which of us here wouldn't leave your current job for double the salary you have now?
Silva is getting close to retirement....and while I don't want him to go, I can't say I blame him, or Milan for trying to cash in on a player we can't afford to pay more to keep.
Agreed with pretty much everything you said in the post except for that Silva is getting close to retirement. He is yet to reach the peak as a defender at age 27. I think that he has 7-8 good years left. If he pulled a Maldini, that means 10+.
I LOVE MILAN
