Summer mercato 2012
I thought he is in love with Gomez.....
Nope, according to him Neuer is the 2nd best football player in the world, right behind Messi Big Grin I bet he changed his mind after the news broke that Neuer is gay too Big Grin

Look at this.

Sacchi is dead true, there is a lack of faith on young players in Italy, especially within big clubs.

Milan is a prime example, we're constantly offloading young player to loans, and they eventually get sold. Merkel, Strasser, De Vito, Paloschi...

I remember De Vito looked very promising when he played once in a cup game. De Sciglio looked very promising also, even in his first game at senior level. That's two players to fix our full back problems we're plagued with for years. But, as same as with De Vito, De Sciglio will be offloaded pretty quickly, I can bet my life on it, although even now he's as good as Antonini, the least to say.

As for Inter, I remember Santon was great when he was introduced, yet he was only 17. I would swear that Maldini wasn't better when he was 17, and he's emerged as perhaps the best left-back of all-time.

I think rumours of Inter moving to a new stadium are actually very credible this time. Moratti is serious, it seems.

Legge Crimi remains blocked. Very frustrating. If the law were to be passed--surely a nightmare for these grotesque city councils--Milan could buy San Siro for a nominal fee and then work on it. That is what the law I believe stipulates: clubs have the option to buy out their stadium for a nominal fee from the city council.

I think if the law is passed, IMO, Berlusconi and Galliani will go for the San Siro rather than build a new stadium. However, the law being passed may take a long time (awesome, isn't it!), and that is why I think Berlu and Galliani are exploring other options. At first I thought Makhtoum was just a rumour, but it's everywhere now. There has to be a kernel of truth here.

To my pleasant surprise, my article on Legge Crimi http://www.notevenanoriundo.com/2011/08/...crimi.html has been very popular on the internet. People who don't or can't read Italian also genuinely want to know what is happening with this law.

Here are some other articles on what clubs are doing in response to the law being blocked (many you have probably seen these): http://www.notevenanoriundo.com/2011/10/...legge.html

Roma, Catania, Inter, and Napoli seem the most serious about building a stadium.

Actually a family member was hospitalized for a weeks so I was really under lots of stress ..... but anyway I am still furious at the final result of UCL. Now the Champions League has lost its charm for me. Coppa America is the 3rd favorite tournament of mine now after WC & Euros. To hell with UCL if a team can play like Chelsea and still be crowned as Champions. Its just unfair. As for Eva, well, I really wish she was a member of Milan lab (if there is any Milan lab in first place), but for once I can forget about the beauty and can't forget the injustice I witnessed on that night ... It still makes me sick when I think of it ........ Wallbang
Bayern Munich is my second team (way behind AC Milan) .... if that had happened to AC Milan, I swear I would have quit watching football once and for all. Facepalm

I think every non Madrid fan should like Manuel Neuer for what he did to the most hate-able player of the world called Cristaina ...

What Sacchi said isn't something which no one knows unfortunately. This is the sad state of Italian football and we've been one of the worst perpetrators in the past half decade.

I never really had too much faith in De Vito if I'm honest, I never had the confidence I have in De Sciglio, who already seems much more capable and assured imo. As for Santon being the new Maldini, I think there was hope at first, but in all fairness I don't think he's anywhere close to what Maldini was. I think this mostly because of temperament, in that Maldini at a young age was more prepared mentally than Santon who seemed to let a little success get the better of him and didn't have Maldini's levels of concentration. Oh, can I add, Maldini isn't perhaps the best LB of all time, he is without a doubt the best LB of all time. Wink

On a serious note, there are massive problems with youth development in Italy these days. I've already written posts about the fairly generic production line for players these days which stifles creativity and growth. Rule and tactical changes in the game have also influenced the quality of defenders coming out of Italy, with Italy not really evolving with the times. Like England, I think at grassroots level Italian football has to seriously improve it's development of young talents.

In addition to this, while I condone and totally agree with freedom to buy foreign players, the backbone of Italian football or any footballing nation is always developing these talents themselves. It is fundamental to utilise the strengths at home before looking overseas for quality players. This will help on the international side, with Germany and Spain being good examples where the top teams rely strongly on local talents and it will help on a economic level, as no longer are clubs investing heavily on imported talents that will already have a high value, but instead looking to help develop young talents at home. That said, I don't disagree with foreign players coming at a young age to develop in Italy (e.g. Strasser, Ely and Hottor), as long as these kids are taken care of, both in living and education. Finally, players developed in Italy will undoubtably have a greater affinity to clubs there, and therefore you'd see greater commitment. This isn't just a case of playing at 100% every game, but also economically they will be more prepared to take a lower paycheck to continue with the club.

He had a decent game marking Messi once Big Grin
...and he gets red carded (unfairly though).
Yet Milan paid 6mil transfer fee for him. Another great deal from Galli.
