Talking about Cavani, one user Juventino bastardo in old MM forum, Tony29, comes to my mind, he like Cavani a lot and tipped that he could be something special (I don't say Tony29 was good at judging the potential of a player, only mentioned one of his tip which is coincidentally right).
I still wait the management to promote many talents to the first team (Milan still don't give enough trust and chance for young players), mostly not to be as starter but to introduce our hot prospects to Serie A so that in one season they could play in small teams of Serie A or at least competitive team in Serie B. I read other forum telling that Cristante (playing with Allievi Nazionali last season who won the Allievi League) who made debut in CL this season, is linked with Novara, this kind of effect I expect from introducing young players into first team (personally I would like to see him playing one more season with Primavera and get some games from Allegri in Serie A/Coppa).
I do think, this is only the most suitable way for Milan to gain as many as profit from youth, not only financially but more about to get the best quality of the young players. Some players who really show big hope like Merkel or DeSciglio could stay with Milan first team since we can't afford to have many young players on the field. It is pity that we can't have a youth team (second team) to the lower-level League like in Germany or Spain to get tons of games and develop into players ready to take part in the first team of Milan.
About Verrati, I checked wikipedia, it seems that he is like Giovinco from body size perspective. He seems however possessing a strength when covering the ball form the opponent. If this guy is really promising, I don't mind he joins Milan and we will have two Italian prospects, him and El Shaarawy.

We should be looking to find emerging talent more often on the market, as well as making a policy of developing our youth as much as possible (getting as many youth talents in the first team squad as possible). However, a club of Milan's stature must also be prepared to make big purchases once in a while. It's about boosting morale within the club, raising the quality and level of the side, as well as key for marketing etc. In addition to this, as silly as it sounds, it's a clear sign of intent and power.
