The risky move of having a small roster is the potential injury impact. Currently MilanLab does not seem up for the job. Imagine we somehow have a healthy Silva, Hernanes, and Pato for the next season, supplemented with healthy Nesta, healthy Boateng, "give a damn" Ibrahimovic, and "derby error free" Abate.
And, is Dede even in our radar? I heard no link whatsoever.

I agree with promoting and keeping De Sciglio. He can easily do the job of Antonini/Zambrotta but for half the cost. However, we keep throwing these kids to Serie C1 and C2 never to be heard of again. What ever happened to Guerci? I remember he was one of our top youth prospects from 4 or so years ago..nowhere to be seen now. Antonelli was a similar case, putting in good performances at LB only to be benched by Carlo. Gourcuff is a story I'm tired of discussing.
Props to Allegri for having faith in De Sciglio..and I hope this trend continues. Hernanes is welcomed news as well. Finally a good link for a change..
Siamo a posto cosi.
Is hernanes even really linked to us, or was this just brought up? If the link is real, it's a really good move, he's valued at 13-15mln euros, which imo isnt alot for a player like him, if i had to value him id give a 25mln. since he's at lazio though lets keep his value at 13
also, if tevez ends up going to jube ill be really mad.. seriously i was sso excited to get htis player in january and gallliani did say whoever of maxi and tevez we dont sign in Jan we will sign in summer.. so let's hopee fingers crosed
Ag. Hernanes: Contact with the Rossoneri in recent months
The Milan has set his sights on Lazio's Brazilian footballer Henrnanes to strengthen its midline. The player of Lazio seems to be willing to change and air contacts with Milan going on for several months as the agent of the player admits to Milan Area . In the words of Joseph Lee, a representative of the player: "Already in recent months there had been contacts with Milan and had spoken of my client," these words of the agent, "the rest is automatic that is approached with great clubs, in two years Italy has proved its value. We have not received anything official, but I can say that would be a welcome destination: Milan is one of the biggest clubs in the world. At Lazio Hernanes has hinted he is ready to play large levels, and the destination Milan would be much appreciated. We are here: Lazio is the owner of the card, if Milan wants to know how to do to get it. " . Quantity and quality for a player who joined together to Allegri would be very convenient.
Also, Flamini has apparently rejected AC Milan's offer of 1.75 M for 2 years, says SKY 24

Thanks elmago, you should be a transfer news guru
Hernanes would be amazing.. Really I think the guy is really underrated, I sometimes wonder really, a player like him why Lazio? Not that they aren't a good club but, IMO he's CL quality and world class enough to play for any big club. Maybe his heart was set on a Milan move from the beginning, after all we were the first big club seriously after him, may i also say top contendors, eventually lazio came into the frame virtually out of no where and bought him if I remember correctly we were seriously linked with him for a solid year or two then he ended up at lazio..
I won't get my hopes up though, once it's done ill celebrate but i really hope were serious about signing him, with a 15mln euro price tag I don't think thats too steep, in addition if i may compare him to another player we have a good chance of getting, tevez it would be tough but I might ahve to say i'd pick hernanes..
-fits our system better
-more versatile, CAM, LCM,RCM, maybe CDM? , possibly RF,LF, has the pace etc.
-Brazilian (we have a brazilian heritage )
-10mln euros cheaper then Tevez
-We have a lot of work horses, and we have players who can score goals, what we really lack imo is creativity

Well, if Hernanes come and Flamini gone, I won't refuse.

Do you happen to have a link to that? I would like to see that for sure before I could start smiling.

well, you can't really compare those two players, as they are playing in different roles. but I see your points there. and I tend to agree with you too if we have to choose one out of those two, my vote would be on the brazilian too.
I have really wanted this player since two seasons ago. I just don't it to turn into another long saga, like Torres, or Kompany. And we all know that Hernanes isn't getting any younger, there will be no point to get him if we wait for another 2 or 3 years.
lastly, why are we assuming that we could get one out of two? while the reality may well be that we are too cheap to get either? :
This is going to be a long summer.

I agree with you about promoting young players although it should be stressed that it should be really hard for a coach to play a 18-20 years old player without experience in important game like Serie A or Champions League. Barca for example played their youngster after they got experience in Barca B (pretty much same like MU whose players played in reserve team). When a coach from a big team like Milan give chance to unproven player like Merkel, Strasser and De Sciglio in Serie A, credit should be given to him even they play in a condition where the first team players are out due to injuries (?except Sciclgio?)? But still, Allegri should play some players in Coppa (mix them with first team and bench player), something he still hasn't done yet.
I like the idea of promoting 1-2 players from youth team every season (not only promoting their name but also playing them). With kind of this strategy, they could get hyped and be loaned to Serie A club (not Serie B) with fair chance to get games in the small club in Serie A (like Merkel). Playing games in Serie A for U21 player turn them to a much better player hopefully.
De Sciglio should be however stay with Milan. He should get more chances next season since Milan don't have proper left fullback right now (only backup level) and lack of substitute for right fullback and we know De Sciglio could play for RB and LB (I don't know if he plays much better on the right side?).
"When Costacurta and Maldini won they didn't celebrate much. They were thinking about winning the next game" - Alessandro Nesta
Milan has not had much luck with our youngster rank in the recent years. If we truly wish to develop someone, we will have to play them here. Almost all our loaned-out players have end up fading away; for those who actually excelled, we just lost them too. A few names that came to my mind include Toldo, Miccoli, Oddo (we spent too much money for only 1.5 good seasons of his).
Abate and Antonini, in all honesty, aren't that good, and it was only because our team sucked and our management are cheap that they got more chances to play, but at least that points to a solution - play them HERE.
I am eager to see how Paloschi turns out. He had so much passion, so much potential, and so much hope from Milan fans. But I don't know what will happen with him now with all the complicated situations surrounding him.
I am not an expert, and can't tell how good De Sciglio is, but I am pleased with his performance in the three games he played. Personally, I would keep him at the team for at least another season, and let him play for at least 10-15 games next season. Bottom line IMHO, if we loan him out, he is gone.

I am against loaning youngster out to gain more exp....b/c look at Barca, did they loan out Pedro, Sergio, Iniesta, Messi, Thiago to other teams in order for them to gain 1st exp. I think Milan should just play them with other regular starters and slowly bring them into the team. I really can't see why De Sciglio cannot play with Nesta, Silva and Abate against Lecce in San Siro with MVB in front of the defense. Or when leading 2-0 with 30 mins to go, Merkel can't come in for Boateng or Cassano.
