Summer mercato 2012
Lin has proved to be a legit NBA starter, now let's wait and see if he can become a franchise player like paul and rose.I think his chance is 50/50,to be that kind of calibre,he needs to have Nashique impact cause he has similar physiques.

You know our summer mercato is going to be crap when we start talking about Jeremy Lin instead. Maybe if there's enough people interested in Basketball then you'll can open a Basketball thread in the Member's Lounge section? I know there's also a tennis thread in there as well.

Well it is only April , but we are in a sh1tty situation where our idea's and MGT plan's are so far apart it's scary. We talk about Hernanes for 17-20 million or Sahin maybe on loan for a year then try and buy , selling Robinho and saying bye bye to senators using some money and wages savings to fund a move maybe for Jovetic , or try for Balotelli or Tevez .Srna and Dzagoev are free so maybe try for them , although both non EU .Speaking of non EU we signed a nothing player in Lucas from International just to get rid of it so don't hold out hope on that.

They'll be bringing austerity signings no doubt , Acerbi linked to us now 24 /25 and had a fairly a decent game but Milan were awful against Chievo. Now most of the player's I mentioned and we do are non EU so can't sign them all , but I honestly doubt they'll sign any.
Monty will sign , Muntari will be made permanent and Maxi , then there is Ibra and Aquilani payments .So other than them maybe Acerbi half ownership and someone free like Ederson or that Traore guy.
It will most likely be a deflating mercato once again , then there is Tevez when his stock was at rock bottom we didnt buy him , now that he's playing again and creating and scoring we'll never afford him.

Out of the oldy's...I think Yepes Pippo will leave , the rest will stay again for another year , even Van Bommel will stay on they'll offer him a year he'll take it.5 year's and 10 mercatos later we have been talking about not extending the old players but we always do.This year will be no different.
For the record, I started this Lin/basketball by saying my son is part of the AC Milan family now.

Anyhow, no doubt do Milan need players in their starting 11. But they also need to trim the squad down and rebuild Milanlab. They have 5-6 players too many at the moment. Yepes, Zambro, Taiwo, Oddo and Mesbah should all leave Milan without a doubt. Then recall Dilac and replace Bonera with Astori.
In midfield, Flamini, Slowdorf, Ambro and Gattuso should all not be Renew. While Urby can go either way, Monty is a must to reinforce thhe midfield. That way, Milan will have Nocerino/Strausser, MVB/Monty, Aqua/Muntari, Boateng/Merkel with Urby or Cassano as spark off the bench. Pippo should bid his farewell, while SES and Polashi have shown that they are both ready. Lopez is a surplus, while
Pato all depend on his price. Robinho and Ibra are more than ready to carry the load.

Not trying to be a dick and I'm very, very sorry beforehand if I offend you in some way, but don't you think this is the right time to learn how to type Paloschi? SagrinSagrin

Very sorry for the OOT, cannot resist that, you know, forgive me Gabriel Sagrin

By the way I didn't post in this mercato thread for long because, you know, I think this mercato will be a boring one. ONE GOOD signing if we're lucky, but not more than that, probably less, + some average players
MILAN! MILAN! SOLO CON TE!
MILAN! MILAN! SEMPRE PER TE!
NP, I think I will give him a nickname of Poppo from now on. I don't think this mercato will be boring bc most teams will not sell till after Euro. Thus making it less time for teams to buy.
Mesbah, Zambrotta, Yepes and Seedorf should definitely go. I'm not sure Galliani will let go of Gattuso, Seedorf, Ambro or Nesta. I wouldn't mind if Nesta and Van Bommel stayed but all the other veterans should make way for new, hungrier blood.
Here's someone else we are apparently linked to: Kevin Strootman from PSV.

I was just joking about the basketball thing Gabriel..I hope you didn't take me seriously.

Back to the mercato though, I'm pretty sure everyone knows what we need..the question is are we actually going to go out and get it. I think we have to sell a forward or two..because we still have too many. Pato, Ibra, Cassano, Robinho, SES AND Maxi Lopez is too much for 2 positions. I know we've been trying to use Robinho/Cassano as AM's but they contribute so little defensively that I don't think that can be a permanent solution. The midfield is a sad song that I've been singing since 2007..and we still haven't addressed it.

If milan really want success in CL,we should make LB and counter masters as our primary market objective.

I watched a video clip of Maldini recently playing a game at LB against Glasgow Rangers (on 3/30/2012). I think he is still better than Antonini, both defensively and offensively.

If Scholes can get out of retirement and still play fantastically for Man United, why can't Maldini? Big Grin
