 Anyway, congrats to the West Indies, admittedly I would have liked India or maybe England to win (being of Indian origin and English), but West Indies did well this tournament for sure.

Jesus, everyone was going nuts here about it here. And if there is one game I can't stand its cricket. For a whole lot of reasons I have immense hatred for the sport now. And one of the stadiums, where matches are held is on the way, on a regular route of mine. A terrible pain in the ass to drive that stretch.
You can imagine the blasphemous looks I must've got when I mentioned to a bunch of friends in a bar that I hope India loses so we can be done with this shit. ha ha and when they did lose, I was nicknamed the black tongue. Obviously, when I realized that my prediction did come true, I quietly wished for Inter to be relegated too. I heard the West Indies won. Always had a soft spot for them since those mighty days of Viv, Clive, Garner, Marshall, Walsh, holding, etc. Cricket was so much fun to watch before it got super commercialized. Now it is like a fucking circus. I haven't seen a match since probably 1997-98 or something. But still in this country it is difficult to escape it, even though I am totally cut from the mass media (No TV connection No Newspaper). But if you really love cricket, India is where you need to be. It's everywhere. |
