i read that some said that it will affect our mercato and we wont sign a mister X, however GDS has an article about Allegri's plans without Mister X, playing Robinho as trequartista...

Zamparini lately said that Pastore is wanted by both Milan and inter. He said that he would like to sell him to an italian, also considering Pastore recently said that he would like to remain in italy...
Pastore is great player, He is the closest thing to prime Kaka... Yet at right price. 30-35 m euros would be the maximum for Pastore. i dont think that inter will sign Pastore, considering their new system, 3-4-3, they even can think about selling Sneijder and buying Sanchez or another player at his calibre. Juve plays with 4-2-4 system. Milan is the only italian team who can sign Pastore and have room for Pastore.
i agree with Elmago, Milan has Boateng, Robinho, El Shaarwy for trequartista position, we at least quality replacements for there but yet we just have Seedorf for LCM, which is very important for our 4-3-1-2. i'd be pleased with Asamoah plus Pastore...
Hamsik now is the only world class player for LCM that we can sign. He is the player that Allegri wants and rates high. Hamsik wants Milan, Milan wants Hamsik.

While the Mondadori bit comes as a relief, it is still difficult to remain sanguine about our ability to sign big players. Our financial position in general is not that much better, and Galliani again reiterated the need for Italian clubs to own their own stadia. But then he also said that we will stay at the San Siro until 2016, meaning that we will not capitalize on our full potential.
Our revenues compared to other clubs will decrease every year. This is more important to consider than Mondadori imo.
I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, but our long term financial health looks very worrying. With the FFP, cash injections from patrons will not be allowed, so the bigger question is not how does Berlu's problems effect Milan, but how is Milan going to boost its revenues. Signing a deal with Europ Assistance is a good start.
That mondadori money could of built a new stadium.
I'll be happy with whoever we get at this stage because of the fine.
Hasan, I may be wrong on this, but I don't think FFP will stop cash injections from patrons. For example, Milan can sell all or some of stadium advertising places to Fininvest for 100mil€. There is no way FFP can stop this. The club made the money by selling advertising space, there's nothing unfair in that.
What it can stop is purchasing the club with club's own money, like when Glazers took over ManU with the money they got from the bank loans, and then made ManU pay off those loans.

Yes, you are correct--there are ways to circumvent the rules. Marcotti had a great article on this recently. However, I was referring more to the straight cash injections we have seen in the past. I think if there is a will, then yes, it is still possible.
Let's see. However, having our own stadium is imperative.

From what I remember there is a specific section in regards to this in that the winning bid has to be within a certain percentage of market rates to stop massive cash injections. For example if we had advertising bids from other companies worth 50m, Finivest could only offer a winning offer of no more than 75m.
I'm sure there are other ways around it though...

You're correct. The key is that sponsorship deals have to be agreed at market price, which makes it more difficult.
I think what it really comes down to is how strictly UEFA is willing to police this.

MILAN have hinted that Ganso could come, but in January.
Ganso has been a long term target of the Rossoneri and yesterday Adriano Galliani and Max Allegri reportedly met to see whether to make a move for him or not. Later that night, Galliani met Ganso’s agent.
The Rossoneri have held the first press conference of the season today [Tuesday] in the Milanello and it the CEO and Coach have hinted that a move for Paulo Henrique could take place in January.
The second non-EU slot is available to us. We’ll see how we could move, maybe only in January. In South America, in some cases, it is best to do business during the winter rather than in summer,” Galliani said.

Just when I think I have Galliani figured out he does this. If what Galliani said is true (about the fine not impacting Milan's mercato) wouldn't it have made more sense to continue implying publicly that the fine WILL affect us. Galliani basically told every team that "hey, we still will be spending money", which weakens our position in negotiations.
I now realize I need to stop analyzing everything these Milan guys say. I don't think these guys have any master plan, they are just winging it...
