Summer Mercato 2011
Well if the the final price tag of El Shaarawy will be 25 million then my calculations were correct. About Kucka, I've read we are interested in getting him in the same operation so it is possible it will take a while longer to finalize this (it's only June). According to Wikipedia he "shows a remarkable physical strength and good technical skills, resulting the second best player of Genoa", the link is to a Gazzetta article stating that he is the second highest rated player for them in February. The number one player for them was .... drumroll.... Kaladze. Anyway maybe we are just using him as a pawn for attracting Hamsik, they are both Slovakian and are both starters for the NT.
25mil is a lot, I guess Italians youngsters are costing as much as English youngsters.
Milan should really start sending the kids to Serie B teams in the hope that some often can have a breakout season to cash in.

He has potential to be even better. He has excellent vision, he is a two footed player, perfectly able with both feet. His passing is impecable. His vision and ability to pick a pass is impressive. He is techncally better than Pirlo, a better dribbler, more agile and more reactive(quicker reactions). His stamina is also superior to Pirlos. Right now as it stands, he is better than Pirlo.

The way you described him, it is like describing Zinedine Zidane in his peak.

No offence mate, the way you told about him like words coming from his agent. Big Grin

Modric is still unproven, he has not yet bringing his team to the meaningful trophies. The caliber of Pirlo is Xavi. Modric is still below Pirlo, at least one level. Too bad he got injurued in the games vs Rome in December when Milan played already well and creative with him playing as left CM and his injury took so long that Milan already found the new tactic. Otherwise his future could be different.

I agree with you, Modric COULD be potentially than Pirlo but until now Pirlo is better than him.

Modric will be 26 by the start of the season. The same age Pirlo was as 2006 WC.
I honestly think Modric is good but nowhere near Pirlo at his peak , not even close.
Deals between Genoa president and Galliani are never what is written through media. There is no way in hell that Galliani would value el sharawey(who played in seria B) 25 mil. Simple as that.

Confusing about the price. Let the deals finished please! And get the real Mr. X plus Berlusconi's gift. Big Grin

Trading places Merkel-El Sharawy can be an indication of what will happen in the future. Giving up on Merkel so easily when we have a deficiency on the LM postition means only that we will be getting a LM for sure. And taking the El Sharawy kid possibly means that Cassano will be out, since we are overload with forwards.

Pato,Ibra, Robinho,Cassano,Inzaghi, Paloschi,El Sharawy???!!!!

the reason he hasnt won much yet is because he doesn't have the same quality of players around him like pirlo has had in the past. Tottenham have a strong deep midfield but an average attack and a below average defence, so its not surprising that he hasn't been able to do much with them. If he were to end up in a team like Manu, he woud make them even stronger. Croatia is also not in the same league as the italian NT, so, he probably won't win much with them either. The English premier league is more competitive than Serie A, so as long as he stays in Tottenham, I don't see him accomplishing much unless they boost their attack and defence. He hasn't yet hit the highs Pirlo has in the past, but if you have seen him play, you will realise that he has the potential to be even better. But, Pirlo is no longer half the player he was.

Modric isn't better than Pirlo. He's a good player, but your talking about two players on two completely different levels, even at their current levels. Pirlo's ability to read games and dictate them is what makes him so great, and I also rate him higher than Modric technically.

About Cassano, I think they are different type of player. Cassano is second striker while El Sharaawy seems a CAM ala Kaka (the position, not the quality). If El really comes, it has nothing to do with Cassano I think. Cassano has played last year as player behind striker but it was a fail. With Merkel goes to Genoa, we have only Boateng for CAM position.
