So we spent a large percentage of the stadium money to build a midtable team?

It's not specifically because of Bee, Berlu said he's just a fan of San Siro, though rumours have suggested Bee's never really been on board with the stadium project.

I think it's possible that things aren't going well with the stadium project, so the club decided to pull out. There was obviously conflict a few weeks back between Milan and the council and I expect that's the cause of pulling out. Silvio probably wouldn't say that publicly though, as he probably doesn't want to further damage the relationship.

Anyway, I don't see this as the end yet, I saw rumours prior to the derby that Milan will perhaps challenge Inter for full ownership for San Siro instead. The club need to actively work to getting stadium ownership sorted regardless.

Classic hardball. If the sellers inflate the price then tell them the status quo isn't too bad either. If EXPO wants the project and money (what at least half a billion dollars?!) then they have to work harder to meet us. Milan is made of business men. I trust their acumen here as they know the importance of stadium revenue too.

As much difficulties as there are in building commercial avenues around San Siro it would be wonderful to keep it. Let's face it- none of us were too happy about the idea of Inter being the sole occupant of San Siro. We let them on as guests and now it's time they piss off

So have we officially abandoned the stadium plan? What's the latest on this?
Siamo a posto cosi.

The latest I read is Gazzetta is saying both Inter and Milan will meet the council to try and get ownership of San Siro. I couldn't work out if this was as rival bids, or a combined bid.

I think it's safe to assume the other stadium plans are done, Silvio speaking publicly about it is pretty much official confirmation it won't happen.

At this stage I'd love nothing more than to somehow force Inter out of San Siro and just buy it for ourselves.

Quote:Inter and Milan have reportedly suspended talks with the local council over San Siro.
Recent weeks have seen the Rossoneri abandon a plan for a new ground, with local councillors warning that one of the clubs should have their own stadium.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the clubs are irritated by such things being made public, and will not discuss the future of the stadium until after the next local elections in May 2016.
There has been speculation that the city could sell San Siro to the clubs, who currently lease it, but the pair would rather such discussions take place in private.
To that end, the pair will refuse to discuss the issue until after the elections, to avoid it becoming a political point-scoring device.
The Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri will therefore only meet with the city to discuss renovations ahead of the Champions League final in May.

Okkkay then !
