somehow, I am not happy to hear that Gattuso stay. I was hoping that we could cash in on him and that Gattuso leaves with a high note.

Call me crazy or ungrateful, but I am a bit (just a little bit) tired that there always seems to be some transfer story/drama surrounding Gattuso every year. Maybe I am asking too much from him, but Ambrosini has never put himself under any type of limelight.

Gattuso has given up many opportunities to go abroad, just because he is a true Milanista. This is admirable in my eyes. There aren't many players these days who refuse lucrative salaries just to play in a club they love.

you know, I think I am being too harsh on him. After all, he does love Milan, and is willing to bleed red and black. I think we should be grateful that Milan has players like him.

I wish there were more players like him. At least when at Milan players stay for a bit long, according to them the great atmosphere in the dressing rooms helps as well as being a massive club. I hope Pato and Thiago Silva stay at the club until they retire.

that's right. I forgot about that. Pirlo left, and we still have a lot of "bad boys" in the team: Cassano, Ibrahimovic, Boateng, van Bommel (believe it or not, I was not extremely happy when those players joined). Gattuso will still be helpful in the locker room.

But then again, Gattuso himself can be trouble sometimes.

First of all, why should the league not sell it's TV rights based on the winning teams. It took EPL about 15 yrs to get to where they are now, but it started like Liga. Having a competitive could means all the teams are crap or are great. As of now, the Serie A is not a fun league to watch, just look at the empty stadiums and the quality of board casting compare to the likes of EPL and Liga. That's got to change. Also, as Serie A as a whole is not attractive, you can only sell those who is, ie Milan, Inter, Juve...Once money start rolling in, teams like Lecce and Parma will also get it's benefits.

As for my jibe on IT, well, they are not in a strong group and Estonia ain't Brazil of Europe. I don't hate Italian but stating that media is over playing it as bas as the English with their EPL.

You just proved my point though - you said it took EPL 15 yrs to get to where they are. To me that implies you agree with the business model of EPL. And you should! EPL was dominated for many years by the big four. Then Man City became relevant. Who's to say that a team like Wolves eventually get a superstar player the way Napoli got Maradona? All of a sudden, the EPL has another brand name to add to their portfolio - making the EPL even more successful.

I just looked it up. Barca and Madrid have won 23 of the last 27 titles in La Liga. There is such a disparity between those 2 teams vs the rest that there can't posibly be any interest in selling La Liga TV rights at a league level. To me la Liga has come down to the clasico and barca's and Madrid's performances in Europe. I don't want the same for Serie A.

The alternative (and exact opposite of what I argued) would be for all the big teams of Europe to say F U to their domestic leagues and start a 20 team european super league. But that will never happen...

You misunderstood my point. It is that it took EPL 15 yrs to get to where they are now, but back then, they marketed Pool, Arsenal, and ManU as their main event. Thus these clubs got more money than the rest. Chelsea went to the cheap option in signing over the hill WC players in order to gain publicity but it was not until Roman that they became a force. Over the last 20 years only four teams won EPL, somehow Blackburn won it in the early days. While Chelsea only won after Roman.

I am not disagreeing with what you said but you must start somewhere and quite frankly, that somewhere should be cater toward teams that can sell at this moment in order to max., profit. Once the world start to see Serie A as a great league to watch, then more fair profit sharing can be achieve.

With all the talk about Menez. I always think he is a talent, but to me he is a Second striker like Cassano and Robinho and not a ACM. Would it be too much if he comes with all forwards staying put.

I watched some italian channel and there they said that Allegri doesn't want Ganso in his team because he isn't keen on players who wait for the ball and then decide what to do with it, and that he prefers type of players like Menez who are skillfull dribblers and can be used on two or more positions on the field....
Also I would definitly want to see Montolivo in our team rather than Fabregas(he can't win anything) or Aquilani(Liverpool made his game ridicolous)....

Best Mercato would be Fabregas + (Ganso/Hamsik).... All else I'm not interested in at this point. Menez is talented but not what we need. He's not a WORLD CLASS ACM. That's what we need. A World Class midfield to compete with the World Class midfields of RM, Barca, Man U, Chelsea, Bayern, etc.

Something tells me we may find out about something before Aug 31st... It's a different dynamic this summer to last, and players want to leave. Ibra didn't want to leave.

I am not saying that menez is a must-buy, I am just saying the positives about him, he can even play as a side midfielder which would be excellent for us....

If Aquilani's price is about 12M, we should take him.

Ambrosini was injury-prone from 2000 to 2006, but he helped Milan won the CL2007 and has been an important figure since then. So I think Aquilani's main problem is not too grave.

Menez is really a quality player. For 10m I would personally got to Roma to pick him up.

We're looking at maybe a couple of new signings during the summer. Is Menez one who can "take us to the next level" or complete our squad? Don't know him too well, but for an attacking player to score 2 goals in 31 league matches this season isn't exactly impressing.

We really need the odd big signing, but we need to ensure our squad has players ready to play at any time. In this respect, while Menez is not a player to take us to that next level, he will add depth in an area which I consider was weak this past season (creative outlets in midfield or AM).

I have to say I havent been following Menez this year, so I expect some of you to say your oppinions? Not just: he's a good player, great buy etc., but how can he adopt to our sistem etc.? Thanx.

Anyway, it could be that we'll be getting Maxwell as MArek left, Didac will, and Taiwo has an African nations cup... Maybe Taiwo still gets his french passport so... it will be an interesting summer for sure!

Menez is a very talented player, but one whose attitude and consistency have been questionable. Tactically, he should suit us really well, mainly because he's quite versatile, fast, direct and can take on opponents (something we've lacked a little last season).

At Roma, he played mostly as AM, but was free to move into wide areas to stretch play, create space and use his ability in wide areas to good effect. At Milan, he'd do pretty well as an alternative to Boateng, as although he doesn't press as well, his movements are natural to what Allegri asked of Boateng last season.

Personally, when in form, I'd argue that Menez is the best attacking talent Roma has right now (that's considering Totti's really not that young anymore). He's not going to raise our team to a higher level, but as a squad player and alternative AM, I think we could do worse given the price being mentioned.

The Koton law (the European Community) is pro Milan in the case of Taiwo as he can be considered a European player since he has stayed 5 years in France.

Perhaps the rule may change, but according to Sportmediaset, Milan have an idea to buy Ganso from Santos (if Taiwo gets an European passport) and then loan him out to Spain, more precisely Espanyol.

Since Milan has such good relations with them. We may Loan out Didac Vila and Ganso , and they may loan out to us, Pablo Daniel Osvaldo. The idea is for Ganso to settle well in Espanyol and then return to Milan with “knowledge” of Europian football. As for Didac, he just needs more playing time.

This may be false, but we have until 31 August to dream. Nothing has been confirmed yet."

Why would Milan loan out a close to 25mil transfer? Unless Esponyol pays Milan a loan transfer fee of 20mil, I really don't see that happening.
