From Football-italia about Milan's interest in Witsel:

What's the deal with this guy? Is he RCM or LCM? It seems the posters who have seen him play all indicate that he is rcm?

The guy might be an OK backup, he's strong and he is a player that can man mark players like Drogba, Ibra, Rooney,.. He was very impressive in our competition (Belgium) but that doesn't really mean much.
I doubt he can make it here, he has the positional sense of a brainless chicken.
haha gooch. i'm american, i've seen him MANY times, he is not agile or fast. If anything he's just a physical monster.
He'd do well in a team that plays a deep line and is organized (lower teir serie A side), just dealing with crosses and big CF's all day.
his short coming has always been pacey/skilled players and space

Bale could play LCM in allegri's system though. Remember we used Serginho extensively at LCM under carlo. Heck we use Urby that way too and Bale is better than Urby. A midfield with bale, boateng, a true organizer (cesc/hernanes/modric type) and a DM is very balanced, just have to figure out how to line it up, but allegri is more about fluidity in his midfield than defined positions
That said, Bale is not worth his tag (atleast not to me)

He's not. Trust me.... he was signed cause he was free and on low wages. Always saw him more as a chip we could use to lower a transfer fee.
Witsel nothing special... He plays as CAM/trequartista in his NT, in 4-2-3-1, with Chadli and Hazard on the wings... Witsel, arial game and movement is good. What i can say about him, another thing is he is strong and passes well...
Both Merkel and Calvano are much better players than Witsel if you ask me... so spending 15 m euros on him would be waste of money... We dont need a player like Witsel...

what makes everyone think that Mr. X is Witsel?? haha because he's 1.83m ??? That's silly.
Fabregas is main target with Ganso as possibility for January. The LCM mystery is probably no one we know right now.
I hope Ganso is tied up for a January transfer, although there is still the matter of working out the Non EU details... I'm still not sure about Fabregas, he obviously wants to go to Barca and £43m + wages is not cheap.
Witsel just completely screwed up a PK. If Braida really is in Belgium watching this game to evaluate him, I don't think we'll be seeing him in a milan shirt anytime soon.
Who cares if he misses a penalty though? If he's good for Milan, I'm happy. Even Baggio missed a penalty, even e very important one. That didn't make him a bad player FFS!

I'm not basing it only on the PK, he just is not impressing me in this one game.

To be fair, I'm at work and hardly paying attention to the game. I might be being harsh on his performance.

Actually I'm not watching the game, and to be honest I've never seen the guy. But I'm pretty sure that Braida won't judge him for this and only game.
