Quote:Barcelona had to pay for the delivery of Real Madrid's congratulatory letter

Sport EN | 14.6.2015 | 17:13h.
Late and poor. This how to describe Real Madrid's way of congratulating FC Barcelona for winning the Champions League final against Juventus in Berlin.

Real Madrid took their time to congratulate Barça for winning that title, which completed the treble (Liga, Copa del Rey, Champions League) and a huge reaction was provoked on social media.

Fans criticised the lack of manners from the Madrid club, remembering that Barcelona congratulated Los Blancos after their 10th European Cup win in Lisbon.

Later, after realising it was too late to send a message on social media, Madrid sent a traditional letter. It was a gesture which was publicly thanked by FC Barcelona.

However, it's not become known, through information revealed by Javier Gomez Matallanas in Diario AS, that Barça were left complexed at having to pay 23.98 euros because Real Madrid sent it without paying for the special delivery.

It was a surprise and a price which the Catalan club reluctantly had to pay.

lol, why bother paying it? I know it's peanuts but it's an insult surely to pay for a letter from your biggest rivals to congratulate you. I wonder if Real were petty enough to do it on purpose.

Benitez on Real Madrid diet?
Football Italia

Spanish papers claim Real Madrid told new Coach Rafa Benitez to go on a diet to improve his image.

The former Napoli boss has a long history with the club, but becoming their first team manager is a huge step.

According to As, the Merengues suggested Rafa lose some weight over the summer to give a better image.

Italian papers pointed out living in Naples was unlikely to help his waistline, as it is the home of pizza.

Predecessor Carlo Ancelotti was famously very fond of food, mentioning it regularly during his autobiography, whose title even had a pun around the meaning of coppa – both Cup and a type of cured meat.

Arda Turan from Atletico to Barca for €34 million plus 7 million in add ons

I still don't get if Barca have a transfer ban or not.

Insane money for him. I believe they have a ban, but can buy players, but not keep them until January (i.e. buy and loan him back out).

Thanks Dev, pretty silly system

And if the new president of Barcelona does not like Arda, he will be returned with 10% discount. Maybe Atletico is hoping for that and get 3.4m free money!Big Grin
