CAssano is off the bench game changer Milan lacked since Serginho. Therefore, I really hate to see him leave, beside, not like Italy got tons of forwards who are better than Cassano anyway. What is Pradinilli going to do, kept calling DP and convince Totti to come out of retirement in 2012 Euro, while also prey that Mario will get a brain transplant by then.
Having said all that, if Cassano wants to leave to play first team football, then he is a fool to choose Milan in Jan in the first place. As I am sure teams like Genoa, Parma, Juve, even Lazio and Napoli would take a chance at him in Jan.

very interesting....he is requested by many clubs & plays for Standard Liege which I believe we have a very good relationship with...plus he seems to fit what we are looking for and MORE importantly fits the discription (depending on one's definition of robust)

Milan certainly want Fabregas. I think they've wanted him for a long time now, but this is the right opportunity they feel. Barcelona, after winning the double, are also in a world of financial hurt and may not be able to pay for Fabregas. Milan NEED an ACM, and before the Financial Fair Play rule begins, Milan are a bit more desperate.
Galliani likes to always fly under the radar and not give away who is true transfer targets really are. I believe that Fabregas is the deal that Mino Raiola has been working on for months. Unfortunately, that does not mean we will surely get him, as Fabregas certainly wants to return to Barcelona where he will then take over the position of Xavi. With all of the games they play, there would not be a problem rotating Pedro, Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, etc.
Being an Italian-American, I don't want to see us lose a lot of our Italian base. Nesta has just a year or so left in him, as does Gattuso, Ambro, & Zambro. Cassano is only player left who has the quality to stay long term, but my prediction is that he will leave in order to get playing time so he can feature @ EURO 2012 & beyond. If we get Fabregas, I believe we would just keep 4 strikers, and we would not buy a replacement to Cassano. The midfield is the key to our success at the next level, and with the FFP rule starting now, we must reinforce our midfield no matter what the costs, or the nationality of the players.

I don't want to lose Cassano since he has shown he can give something to Milan with his performance especially if he can improve his attitude in the game. I personally don't count Scudetto so much (since I adore CL trophy, for me 1 CL trophy should be worth at lest 5 Scudetti) but seeing how screw our team building lately, I am happy if we can win scudetto (almost) every year.
Cassano could bring something me missed last season in CL, a game changer or a player who can decides the game with his assist (even Cassano is probably not a match decider). Cassano's performance in Milan was pretty much delicious to watch especially if he was given the freedom to build the game upfront by his own (he lacked the spirit though). As already has been mentioned often here, Cassano was cheap and earns not so much, so having him in Milan is at least not a bad thing.
I think so too. He was probably just messing with the media, and eventually the fans.

You don't have to be an Italian-American to want that Milan have a good group of Italian players. If we could, I would like for us to replicate the model of 8 Italians and 3 Dutchmen like the old successful days. The problem is now Italy simply sucks badly. Given that, I would want Milan to do well and win trophy, with or without many Italian players.

I think we should concentrate on CL but also not let the seria a title slip away, two more titles and we add the second star willl look nice on our jersey.. If we were to invest 100 million euros over the summer, IF and it's a possibility since the financial fairplay will come into affect .. We could look at a team like this next year:

It would be nice to see MIlan have more IT players, but the fact is that, beside De Rossi, Rossi, Chellini and to some extend Mario, there just ain't any good IT players at this point. And on top of that, the four I mention ain't the best players in their positions either.
