Milan to leave San Siro

Doubt over Milan stadium...see below. No quotes though, just speculation.

Quote:It’s reported that doubts are emerging about Milan’s stadium plan, namely whether the club can secure the funding.

The Rossoneri have submitted plans for a new arena in the Portello area of the city, with a decision over the preferred bidder for the land expected by the end of this month.

Despite this, Tuttosport reports that there are doubts at Casa Milan over the viability of the project, with the main problem being the cost of moving from San Siro.

The entire project could cost around €300m, and it the newspaper reports that banks would be unwilling to loan such a sum to a stadium project without certain guarantees.

It is therefore believed that the Diavolo are looking at alternatives, with the intention of building in areas which would secure European Union development subsidies such as the Expo area.

Ah I just posted the link in the Venting thread lol. Anyway, as I said there I'm not concerned at this point, there's clearly something going on with the sale and I think once a deal is struck, the plan for financing the stadium will become known

Knowing how good B&G is at creating distraction to diffuse blame, I wasn't fully convinced that they were sincere in this plan in the first place.

I still am not. I will remain so until something real actually happens.

The stadium is one step closer, the Fondazione Fiera has given a preliminary yes to the location near Casa Milan.

San siro is worthy like Colloseum ,that value of venerablity .San siro must to changed some things ,my thinkiing is if build new stadium ,he should be still playe on San siro,at least 6,7 games of season, save to duration of history ,desire of fans ,and loyality of identity .New stadium was pretty useful ,financially ,I am against to be 40000 seatings ,Milan must have at least 55 000 seatings .Such is time ,to have not stadium ,and workaday revenua ,put yourself in unconform situation ,in regard to others giants .

Agree. 40,000 is too less for a club like us. If we get back to where we belong. We won't have a problem filling 50L regularly, especially since so many people are waiting for Milan to do well to come back to the stadio. I really hope that the capacity is 50+

Not sure what to think of this right now, as there's all sorts of talk going on about what will happen. I suspect we'll know more soon in the coming weeks.

The residents have also been protesting a lot saying they don't want a stadium in the area.
