Even with 3 serious investments we cannot "expect" to win the CL. At the moment the only team that can realistically set that goal for themselves is Barça.

Imho getting rid of all the senators and replacing them wouldn't necessarily put us in that position. First of all some of our investments are young and lack CL experience. Hamsik is great, but we cannot think he can lead us to trophies. The kid hasn't even played in the CL yet. Same goes for the likes of Asamoah. Really the only player we are linked with who can be given this burden is Fabregas, maybe De Rossi. Secondly, a team needs time to gel. As good as the players are, we cannot expect to refresh the whole midfield or even 3/4 it and expect to get away with a treble. That could only realistically happen with the likes of Messi, Fabregas and Ronaldo (isn't really a midfielder but still). It isn't a guarantee there either. Barça doesn't have this guarantee either, but at least their world class players have known each other for ages.

Letting Ibra go is a bigger step backward than signing Slowdorf. Considering he singlehandly got us win after win after win in Oct and Nov.
You talk about Hulk, personally, I think he is over rated at this point, and beside he is more a Robinho type of player instead of someone who leads in attack.
Then there is ManCity, do you really think Adebayor, Dzeko or even Tevez is an upgrade to Ibra?
Also where is the source that said Ibra is a waste of money....?

Anyhow, glad Oddo might be leaving, just hope Bonera follows him too.

I highly doubt the Seedorf stuff, following up on Ibra, Robinho and others we should expect 1 or 2 big investments before UEFA get their act together.

Milan wants Pato to lead attack anyway and he should. He should be in #9 role. Notice all his injuries came playing deeper w/ crunching tackles deeper. When Carlo played him at #9... not so many.

Anyway, Ibra cannot lead the line. Never has been able to. His finishing is as bad as Robinho's and besides he likes to create more.

Yeah, losing ibra is not a step backwards btw. Robinho is better than him. All it took a few months for Robinho to adapt to serie A. where as Ibra had already played it. Robinho will get better. Cassano will find fitness and be best #10 in italy again. Pato will score. Hulk is more dynamic.

You guys don't realize, ibra is a hinderance on us in ucl cause he's slow and lazy. He just yells at everyone and cusses them out for not passing him to ball, only ot be triple marked and lose it. I'd rather play Robinho/Pato or Hulk cause they move nonstop LIKE SHEVA AND PIPPO did.

"Expectation" was a poor choice of word on my part. What I meant is that we don't even have winning CL as a goal. Unlike our goals in Serie A and Coppa Italia where Allegri says we are hoping to win them both, we really just want to look decent in UCL.

In years past, we would explicitly state that we want to win the UCL and would do what we could to accomplish that. Now we just want to look respectable? ok - fine, maybe Allegri realizes the difference in quality between our club and Barca, ManU, etc. Maybe he's realistic and understands we can't convert into a contender like them in just one year. Maybe in 2 years, we'll be in a position to try to get our 8th cup. But how exactly are we building up to accomplish that when we renewed all the senatori? How is that building for the future?

Sorry for being such a downer, I'm just very upset about Seedorf.

Agreed. Standard Galliani. Seedorf will play his role, as a sub/spot starter and do well. But management is not planning to use him as our #10. but until we sign the guy Galliani will say it just for PR purposes and to not make us desperate on market.

It's hard to sign someone for cheaper when you say "WE NEED HIM". Instead you say 'oh we got clarence, we don't need him. 25 mil take it or leave it'.

Then the player begs management to be sold. Then eventually it happens.

If we as fans think Slowdorf is crap, I am pretty sure other teams do too. So that having Slowdorf is a way to lower the price of potential targets is untrue. I can just see it now, Wenger wants 35 mil for Cesc, but when Galli comes in with 20 mil, take it or leave bc we have Slowdorf is really going to make Wenger sell Cesc to Milan for 20mil.

As for Pato leading the line, I have no problem with that but he is really injury prone, and I think that's has more to do with him being unfit more than the position he plays, As most of his injuries are mascular problems instead of broken ankles or dislocation. Personally, if he continues to get injured next season, it is probably a good idea to look offload him since his injuries are just too much.

Ca, we all know you hate Ibra, but fact is that he scored 4 of the 7 CL goals for Milan this year. Add to that, Milan probably would not have won the league without his goals and assists during the first half of the season. To have an attack of Pato Robinho and Cassano is fine, as long as that team does not park the bus and play ultra defensive. Wait a sec, that's what teams in Serie A do.
As for Ibra in CL wanting people to pass him the ball, he is a striker, and last time I check you do need the ball to score goals. The whole Milan team was pretty crap in CL this year, mainly due to lack of movement and speed in midfield. Thus the thought of Slowdorf being one of the midfielders against Man U or Barcelona, Real....no wonder Max said just be respectful in CL.

you can think seedorf is crap. But it doesn't reflect highly on your footballing intelligence. Most EVERY coach and player compliments him. Rooney called him best player he's played against. Mourinho calls him highly intelligent, Fabregas and Wenger both say he's one of best. Seedorf is the most underrated player of a generation. He still is capable of greatness. Of course his legs are going so he can't be so consistent, but his game when fit is not a problem. We didn't play slow when he played with boateng, pato, robinho...

I don't hate Ibra, but you consistently look over MY REASON WHY he fails in ucl. I mean seriously? If he's as good as you claim, why hasn't he done betteR? It's because he's too 1 dimension. He wants to play HIS WAY. He doesn't wanna adapt to a team style.

Lack of movement in midfield? Nah. Our lack of movement was 100% Ibra. Go re-watch Milan v. Inter for ex. We had NO PROBLEMS without Ibra. He parks himself uptop and swore at everyone. He wants to do ti all himself. I admire his commitment to winning but he needs to get over himself and run more. He needs to run for robinho/pato as much as they run for him.

Infact the same shit happened at Barca. He sat central and it made them stagnant. Messi constantly tried to make runs but he blocked space.

I've heard from Italy that the reason Pato is having so many difficulties is due to the muscular training Milan has put him through. Not only has he undergone rapid muscle growth, he has also grown from 172 to 180 cm since joining. I am no expert at this so I cannot judge the validity of said statements but it would seem like his growth has made him fragile, at least for now.

Messi was similar though wasn't he, got knocks and injurys easily when he was still developing, now he has found his matured athletes body he seems to be much more resiliant, also Pato's lastest injury is a pretty freak occurance to dislocate your shoulder in such fashion.
