Clarence Seedorf's new deal continues Massimiliano Allegri's evolution of AC Milan

A Milan source told Goal.com: “Seedorf was given guarantees by Allegri after speaking with the coach. Allegri told him he will be given regular playing time and he will be playing behind the strikers, which is what he had asked for.”

I just have one issue, with Hamsik coming and taking the CAM spot..we need to get another left creative midfielder (Sedoorf type of players) cuz in all honesty with Hamsik,MVBommel,Boateng and Flamini we lack creativity for CL. We have what it needs to retain possession but we would lack the final pass.
One would argue that we will be more direct and have faster game, and i agree. However in this case Ibra is a liability, we need to field Pato and Robinho to complete that direct way of playing.
Allegri's an odd character, seeing as he's very different as a coach as he was a player.
Ibra's still very important imo. Not just for his agression and motivation, but also his physique and ability to break down small sides. If he plays like he did this half of the season against Napoli and Fiorentina (before getting sent off), then he's not a problem at all.

Can't argue with Stewie, if for nothing else then fear for my life
How can it be a evolution if Slowdorf is you main guy?
Hamsik is great but he is more a direct, pass and run player than a playmaker. Anyhow, still better than watching Slowdorf plays. Cant wait to see Milan sign Hamsik and Hernanes, then Slowdorf asking to leave like Dinho this past season.

Goal.com surely knows how to provoke controversy.
I'm not a pro- or anti-Seedorf, but this is too much.
According to La Gazzetta we will be forking over max 25 million euros for Hamsik, while trying to start at 20. I honestly don't see why Napoli would accept such an offer. They want to repeat their season next year, but how will losing Hamsik help them? For 25 mln they can probably buy 2-3 emerging players. That's just a gambit though or at most a future investment, which wont help them next season. Or they replace Hamsik for a "quality" player but at the end of the day they'd still spend about 15-20 mln for him, so they aren't really gaining much from it.
In the meanwhile Galliani excluded Pastore and Ganso from the mezz'ala shortlist, since they don't play that position. He did however pull several names out of his hat: Asamoah, Fabregas, Bale e Van Der Vaart.
Also some good news is that Oddo might be leaving us.

Gabriel I was just thinking this myself. There's no way Slowdorf will run our offense for the season. I would have much rather Pirlo in that position. However, Hamsik, Hernanes, or Ganso or Honda would be a better fit. I can't possibly believe this article. How stupid would Allegri be to promise a 35 year old out of form Seedorf the starting Trequartista spot in AC Milan??
After being booed of the field a few times, he won't start anymore. Buying Hamsik or a player of the like has been our priority for a year now. It's about time....
I agree with Hitman in that we should at all costs buy Fabregas if Hamsik is not available. Seems we don't want Ganso after the injuries and I can understand why. Fabregas for €30-35 Million + Cassano should do the trick. Maybe throw in Seedorf for good measure

The problem is that we don't have any creative midfielders beside those two players. One 3 years younger is gone and we now have only one, who is 35 years old. We suppose to re-build our squad. We need two creative midfielders but Seedorf is staying, according to Galliani we will only get 1 good midfielder. This is really not a good sign if we want to achieve European success.
Seedorf is from now not a starting material. With only 1 creative midfielder coming, he could be starter from one match to the other match. The management seems forgetting the games in UCL group stage when we couldn't compete with Real Madrid even in Milan was a draw but we really got owned by Real Madrid. It is still Real Madrid not yet Barcelona.
AGAIN you are all missing the point. ALlegri played a midfield of pirlo, gattuso, seedorf (3) v. real madrid. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? That's awful...
How is that suppose to compete w/ pace of di maria, ronaldo etc. Not surprising when he added a midfielder we did much better second leg.
Beyond that when he evolved it to just playing 1 of pirlo or seedorf as once we had no problems. You guys underrate how few of these players there are...
Does Man Utd look liable when they play Scholes? or Giggs? No, because when they do they have proper WORKING midfielders around them to compensate for declining athleticism.
On the positive:

HAMSIKKKKKK
Diego Ribas:

Wolfburg will sell him. Apparently it will only take 9 million to sign him. Milan has been said to be monitoring but Galliani is not convinced. Lotito seems more serious.
A dream scenerio is they sign Diego and we get hernanes (and we play hamsik, hernanes, mvb, anyone midfield). But in all honesty, they won't sell Hernanes....
I would be upset if we don't take Diego for 9 mil. Similar to van der baart and lesser extent robinho. The quality is undeniable, but a couple bad situations with horrendous coaches at teams have killed there value. Diego at milan could be a star. But at 9 mil, it's low risk high reward. Aka if he flopped he could be sold for almost same value (a la huntelaar).
You all think I want seedorf starting. That's not true. I'd like him as a back up in end of day. If we got Diego with Hamsik, I think we're looking good. Diego @ CAM, Hamsik @ LCM. If one needs a rest or is hurt/suspended Seedorf comes in. Seedorf is best then anyway, when he isn't played week in week out and can rest.
You just said you want Seedorf to start during UCL. Now you say you don't want Seedorf to start. You also think Diego & Hamsik will play in our starting formation when Allegri is very defensive minded. I'm starting to wonder if you watched this season at all?
Seedorf played 41 Games Total this Year in All Competitions
Pirlo played 25 Games Total this Year in All Competitions
So you're telling me Seedorf only played bad when Pirlo played??? Besides (3-4) Games, Seedorf SUCKED. He was booed off the field, he lost the ball continuously, did not run, errant passes, seemed uninterested, etc. What's that got to do with Pirlo? He should not play anymore, PERIOD, end of story, case closed. The guy is past it...

It's a shame we've been strong-armed by a player who has been coming apart at the seams for a couple of years now. Seedorf staying is a big kick in the face. If he actually starts for us in Europe, then we are in big trouble.
Oddo's possible departure is slight comfort, but I'll believe it when I see it. Really hope we keep Ibrahimovic, and bring in Hamsik/Pastore/Ganso etc.
I think we will only get one player this summer.
If I look at it from Galliani's side, then I guess it is sort of smart to keep Seedorf, so teams don't think we're desperate.
All in all a terrible decision.
