Summer Mercato 2011
The good thing is, i know for sure I will live longer than watching Slowdorf in Milan. bad news is it wnt be this summer.

Then again, maybe Galli will sign Lucas, Sandro, Honda, Hamsik and Hernanes by the end of summer, and then guys like Slowdorf, Flamini and Even Ambro or Gattuso will leave within days. Hey it happened last year with Ibra and Robinho, then right away Hunter and Borreillo left. It could happen again.

Don't be so sure, we never know, Seedorf could bury all of us !!

Last season, we got Ibra and Robinho when everybody complained the lack of ambition of our management ... The mercato isn't yet open, we secured Boateng. Our management has made it clear that we will get some kind of player. Don't forget the potential "gift" by Berlusconi too.

Perhaps you read my post ALL wrong. I 'observed' that Milan Management offered every expiring contract 1 year. I would have kept Nesta, Ambro, MvB, & Inzaghi. I would not re-sign Pirlo, Seedorf, Legrottaglie, & Jankulovski. So, we didn't think too differently, Galliani & I.

The decision of Milan's Galliani was rather simple. Offer all a 1 year contract and see who stays. Obviously subtract Jankulovski & Legro from that.
Will Yepes Stay?

In terms of being pessimistic, I am not. However, we NEED 2 midfielders to improve upon this season. Winning Serie A means less than it did (as Russo-Neri stated). However, one has to think Inter & Juventus will improve their squads, and Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man UTD, Chelsea, Bayern, are strong. We lost to Tottenham so we must improve.

Let's see who we get, but we will need at least 1 World Class Midfielder. It's as simple as that. This is of course assuming we do not lose Cassano or Ibra, in which we may need to buy another World Class player.

Thought you were against these renewals ...
About Yepes, I read somewhere on TMW that he was confirmed for next year, which means we'll have Thiago, Nesta, Mexes, Yepes + Bonera, and let's not forget that Astori could come back. If he does, our CD roster will be more than complete !!

Let's imagine that, that would mean:
- Thiago, Nesta and Mexes playing together (2 of them) and replacing each other
- Yepes and Astori as subs
- Bonera as backup

Consider that we are looking for a LCM who according to Galliani's description is a quality player (physical, technical, eye for goal) and that we are being linked with players like Hamsik and Asamoah for that role. I interpret that as meaning we want a starter at LCM.

Add the fact that they said Boateng is our first choice for CAM and that we will certainly be playing with vBommel/Ambro and Gattuso/Flamini; it all points to Seedorf being a bench player. Not to mention Allegri said he couldn't guarantee him a starting role. So Seedorf is a sub unless he puts in some quality performances. But at that point I don't think anyone will mind him starting.

our CD roster will be complete only if we sell Bonera...
i know u put him with a + and called him back-up but t still means he can play for Milan and that is something i don't want to risk happening ever again
getting Astori and relying on any type of youngster makes us complete
I look at Seedorf in same light as Del Piero. Both roll back the years and bring great performances here and there, but overall, they hold the team back from moving forward.

If we want to "cut down" the size of our squad, I can't see us having 6 CB's. Is that necessary?? (Nesta, T. Silva, Mexes, Yepes, Astori, Bonera)

I know it will not happen but I would sell Bonera for 4-6 Millions and add Astori. Our Center of Defense will be perfect. The money from Bonera could then help us buy that new LCM. I'm still a bit surprised about Boateng being our first choice Attacking Central Midfielder. However, knowing Galliani, this could of course change.
I would give Bonera to any club for free, I would even give some money to that club for them to allow Bonera !!

Cassano's agent confirmed he is staying after meeting with Galliani

that's more like it Smile
I think the plans for getting a quality midfielder or two has been on for 6 months at least so I am optimistic Seedorf's signing won't impact that. We will see how many games he actually gets...
