I'm mixed with Seedorf staying. Personally, I would have preferred he left this summer, but I get the impression Allegri really wanted Seedorf to stay, which means he must have his reasons (whether it be something Seedorf can do on the pitch or his presence in the dressing room). Either way, I'm going to trust Allegri's judgement on this renewal.

No great moves until now, but we are free from minor worries about depth. The only thing to focus on now is the new star, a CM/ACM.

So all we have lost in the past 3 seasons where we needed new blood are dida favalli pirlo kaladze the rest remain.there are new players ofcourse but I see it a pointless exercise extending everyone and lore baffling that pirlo is the one gone.
Who will Our new midfielder be I don't even think god knows , but I am fairly certain that with a new lcm and mexes taiwo we won't be challenging for CL anytime soon.
I'd like to say I trust his decision but really seedorf was time to go he's been great a living legend an icon but at 36 he just is not the sort of player we need here, unless it's a bit part role and let's be honest it more than likely won't be.
I just wonder if mgr reckon we won the league had injuries against tottenham so a few good defenders and a midfielder we'll really have a chance.I font think it's a squad that can realistically challenge on 3 fronts.

I gotta say Seedorf staying is disappointing for more than one reason.

Getting rid of him would have compelled us to make more changes to this team quickly. Seedorf is infuriating to watch sometimes.

Like many have said here, if Seedorf takes the bench and makes spare contributions then fine; but I really hope he won't be a regular starter.

Anyway, I hope we kept him as a world class sub and as a leader for the dressing room. If he becomes a starter for the next season- I will go postal.

I can't wait to see the look on your face when he comes out of the tunnel for the first game wearing the captains armband.

As for the Pirlo move, I would guess that the Zebras wouldn't have accepted Seedorf given he's already 35 now and fairly inconsistent. We needed a spy to pass us beautiful balls during our matches with them next season, now we have him

Every player took it (MvB, Ambro, Seedorf, Nesta, Pippo) EXCEPT Pirlo. I preferred Pirlo over Seedorf although I thought both should leave. Seedorf plays great once, then like a school-boy the next 4 times. This is too risky and he cannot be trusted. What scares me is that he will be relied upon for his "experience" in Champions League. Very very scary.

The question is will we still be getting 2 Midfielders (LCM & ACM), both with the ability to start?? Because if next year I see:

Then I will not be happy.


I'm also confused about Beretta. We should have loaned him to a team where he can get a lot of minutes, but we should not have given up 1/2 of his contract. He could have a breakout year next year (like Borriello did a few years ago) and we will lose a lot of €€€ then. He will find it hard to play with our current list of 5 strikers.

Any news on when Cassano will have his meeting with Galliani? Is it true he wants out for sure? How can we tell Cassano he won't get minutes but we can tell Seedorf he can???

Seriously, what did you expect ?
Ambro, MVB, Nesta, Pirlo, Seedorf and Inzaghi all leaving ?

Ambro is the captain, and even if I'm not the biggest fan (he can/could be WC when in form, but he is also very injury prone), I think it's fair to keep him.

MVB earned his contract in these few months he has spent in Milan.

Nesta had to sign this contract, nobody will complain I think ...

For Inzaghi, it's all about giving him a last run, he will retire after next season for sure (it's what I think), especially if he gets another injury. Keeping him or not won't change the team, he's just an additionnal player with a lot of experience who can teach one or two things to the young players.

For Seedorf, it seems he earned his new contract in the last 5-6 games of the season. The fact he can play in many positions is probably what decided our management to try to keep him and not Pirlo for example.

About Pirlo, he said he had decided to leave some time ago and it's why the management didn't offer him any new contract.

Oh well - there goes my excitement for this mercato. I actually let myself think that Milan could act like a big club this summer by signing 2-3 players of the Hamsik-Ganso-Hernanes-Pastore caliber. But no - let's extend every old player we have including Pirlo (who really only left because he got a ridiculous offer from Juve - I'm sure we offered him a 1 year deal just like we offered everyone else). Milan obviously don't have money and are just getting by thanks to Bosman. You can see the level of non-commitment from management when they say we are focusing on "competing" in the UCL next year instead of "winning" the UCL. Seriously - how could we ever compete with a team like Barca?

So milan YET AGAIN delay the rejuvenation of the club. Next year we will just renew everyone again for another year. But at some point, all these guys are going to retire. Then what? Should we really hold out any hope that Milan will actually spend money to replace them?

Let's just get Asamoah already and shut this thread down. That's probably the only player coming this summer.

Last season, we got Ibra and Robinho when everybody complained the lack of ambition of our management ... The mercato isn't yet open, we secured Boateng. Our management has made it clear that we will get some kind of player. Don't forget the potential "gift" by Berlusconi too.

Look at it from a different angle comparing to the old Milan we have lost our absolutely worst players, and got 9 new players for the first team-
Tiago, Mexes, Abate, Taiwo, MVB, Boateng, Binho, Ibra, Cassano.

The problem in the previous years was that our backup players were total crap. Now our old champion are becoming backup players, which isn't a bad move if you ask me as long as their wages are lowered.

+1 I see no reason to be pessimistic at all. We only really need 1-2 midfielders and this team can challenge for the CL, IF Berlu buys players of Ibra / Robinho callibre of course.
