So you never thought about leaving France in order to return to Italy?

“Last summer there was a great offer from Milan. If I had said yes, a deal would have been completed. However we didn’t reach that point as it wasn’t what I wanted. However I am grateful to Milan. They are the best club I’ve ever played for, and I’ve played for a lot of important teams. Nobody compares to them in terms of how they work or how they are organized, and we had a fantastic side.”

Do you miss Milan?

“San Siro, the city, the people, the language: I have great memories. I’ve always said Italy is my second home as I’ve always been happy there. If it had been up to me I would have never left.”

Who is to blame for your departure then?

“That’s something that is over as things went the way they did. I now have other goals, in football and in life.”

Don't know about all his former clubs, But I do remember that he trashed Barcelona and Guardiola.
