On a more serious note, didn't we spend a large sum of money with Inter on the combined real and synthetic turf in the San Siro? What was the point after we we spent 23 years suffering it and now we're going to move away within a couple.

maybe it (the plan to move out) wasn't on their mind yet at that time; if true, it only shows the lack of long-term planning on our side.

@nefremo, I've not heard anything, didn't know there was meant to be any reply already tbh. I like Roma's stadium plans, based on the history of the city, modern design and scalable to start off a little smaller with potential to go up to 60,000 (something I was saying we should do too!).

Yesterday a meeting took place between Barbara Berlusconi and Erick Thohir about the stadium and it appears some sort of agreement took place.

First of San Siro's capacity will be reduced to 56.000 after the 2016 CL final.

Second and more important Inter will apparently be staying at the San Siro while Milan will get a new stadium. Corriere dello Sport reports that the capacity of Milan's new stadium will be around 45-48.000

Just what we need and hopefully these plans start materializing soon.

It's great news I think. A modern stadium will go a long way. I was hoping for a capacity of around 60,000 though.....but 45,000 will probably be a packed house almost every game and it gives a different feeling to the game.

Milan - Juventus was watched by 78681, maybe we can expect the ticket prices to go up dramatically.

Maybe not prices as I think they are pretty high already. What you can expect is income to go up because we are paying a lot less to others.

I was reading another site and they were talking about the infrastructure around a new stadium to be a big problem. The expo site is so great (and subsequently expensive) because it has transportation built in (roads for sure and I think public transit too). The San Siro is the same but it'll need money to A) be purchased and B) updated.

A new site will ultimately be a massive project and very expensive because it's not a just you can build it and they will come sort of thing. At least that is what I'm getting from all of it. My understanding is that we are actually trying to go in with Inter on the San Siro and this is a sort of hardball thing to lower the price. Ultimately working with the San Siro is the easiest thing to do especially if you can have 2 parties split costs (though it would take a bite out of the overall bottom line).
