Summer Mercato 2011
If I am to engage in the realm of fantasy, let me indulge in this scenario.

Knowing full well that Mancini and Man City are really keen on Ibra, what if we let go of both Ibra and Robinho. Ibra can be sold to City for Dzeko + say 10/15 million euros (we know those sheikhs have very deep pockets). Robinho for 20 million euros to a team like Tottenham or something (so, that plus our anticipated transfer budget of 50 million gives us 85 million transfer budget in total).

We can go for a massive spending spree with that money (plus have a world-class striker in Dzeko already in the bag). For that money we can get Neymar to replace Robinho (25 mil.) + Kaka who we know can gel into the team straight away (25 mil.) + Lamela as Kaka's understudy (18 mil.) + Hernanes to replace Pirlo in the deep midfield position (20 mil.) In this scenario we would have a team that looks like this.

------------------Abbiati---------------------
--Abate----Thiago S.----Nesta----Taiwo--
----KPB-------Hernanes-----Ambro/MVB--
--------------Kaka/Lamela------------------
----------Pato-----Dzeko/Naymar-----------

With players like Amelia, Mexes, Astori, Yepes, Zambrotta, Antonini, Mirkel, Seedorf, Kaka/Lamela, Cassano, Dzeko/Naymar on the bench.

Like I said, this is pure fantasy, but f**k me sideways! That would be a scary team!! Not only that, but we'll have the great potential for tactical variation whether we decide to play traditional 4-4-2, 4-3-1-2 (standard formation), 4-3-2-1 or even 4-3-3.

He's a total different player than the 17 year old we signed.. that kid was so strong mentally and was ready to carry us even when we had Kaka and Ronaldo in the team... now he's just a tall muscular chicken that can't handle pressure... yeah he's going to be a great, but we aren't arsenal, we want great players nowww not in 3 years.... Pato's problem is not talent, but he is weak mentally... reminds me of Gilardino these days.

No, we can't. Big Grin

Neymar compare to Pato? No way. Neymar is still unproven while Pato has showed that he is capable scorer in Serie A.

a tall muscular chicken that can't handle pressure? only cos of last game? how many chances actually he got? he didn't play well last night but so were the team.

pato inconsistent, so who is consistent? ibrahimovic? robinho? cassano? none of our strikers are consistent. i can name games where they showed inconsistency.
give me information please player similar age (or younger) BETTER than pato who are consistent?

We don't owe Portsmouth anything, Genoa have that covered. We just have to pay Genoa to get Boateng. Last summer there was an agreement on 7 million euros, but from what understand there is no obligation for Genoa to sell at that price. That's why Preziosi has been saying to the media he wont give us any discounts and there is the rumour Inter will offer them big cash for him (which I don't believe).

I'm a bit skeptical towards Kakà. The biggest problem is his salary. We cannot afford to have another player like Ibra/Ronaldinho, so he will probably have to accept wages around 5 million (which is absurd considering Mexes will get 4.5m). I also ask myself how much it will cost to sign him. Regarding his qualities I have some doubts too; will he be able to reach his past levels? If he can get close to that, then welcome back. His qualities are exactly what we need in the trequartista role. Direct play and great vision/creativity. I actually haven't followed him much recently, so I wonder if he still has his speed?
We've been linked to Sandro quite a lot in the last couple of days, with most stories on milannews. He's a player who'd fit well in Milan, able to play a couple of roles in our midfield.
Now we are talking.

Like I said earlier, if Spurs don't make the CL, they will be seller and unlike other EPL teams, they actually don't want to sell to EPL sides.

Sandro, Honda and Hernanes. Welcome to the new Milan Midfield.
I though with the signing of Boateng it was 7 mil but then that could rise depending what MIlan did suring the season, so if we had finished 4th it would be 7 mil but because we have won the league its going to be a little more than that?
with a bucket of Salt in hand Tuttosport have reported that Ganso is annoyed at Milan for not finilising the dealings and that we have left him in Brazil and decided to focus on Taiwo instead, he said because we have abandoned the deal he will sign for Corinthians and hopefully see us sometime in 2012 when his contract is cheaper for us to negotiate him out of.

Pirlo to Juventus already?

Damn... Hope it's not true. I really think we could need him and he's one of my favorites at Milan.
We won scudetto thanks to ibra, Robinho and Boateng... And however our fans wants to get rid of them... Cuz they want Kaka back...We hardly fight for scudetto with Kaka and our legends... We always gave up... We fought for scudetto in 2 years after we won it in 2004...Since then we always gave up early in Serie A... Silva, Boateng, Abate,
Robinho, ibra... We won it this year thanks to them... Van Bommel... They all had great season...

Kaka left Milan because he wanted Real, he sold Milan for more money... He always wanted to go to Real Madrid, and however finally he went there 2 years ago...

Kaka is finished, he is not the same player since 2007...it passed 4 years, injuries, bad perfonmances e.t.c. Very high wages... around 10-11 m euros a year...its too much for a player who passed his best...

injury prone+29 Years old+ very high wages + passed his best =Kaka? No thank you...

Did you see the game yesterday? As great as Pirlo's passing still is, our offense has no dynamicism with him in the lineup. We are just too slow with him on the pitch. We need skilled ball-handlers in midfield who make quick descisions, not a player like Pirlo who holds the ball and then picks the ideal time to deliever a (usually great) pass.

We have too much pace/movement with our squad now thanks to players like Prince and Cassano and Robinho. We need to play to our current strenghts and not our former glory. Time to move on. Pirlo is probably my 2nd favorite milan player of all time, but all things come to an end.

Thanks Pirlo for everything you have done. But you should probably move on to Juve.

As sad as it is to say I do agree with you about Pirlo, watching yesterday's match made me feel he no longer fits into the system. He's still a great player (I rate him as an all time Milan great), but we do need to look to the future, and he's not in ours. I won't be disappointed if he does stay because players of his quality and vision are rare, but realistically, this is probably the best time to look to part ways.
