Summer Mercato 2011
Aquilani wants to stay in Italy.

There is no way aquilani is back at liverpool. Jube know this.

I bet what happens is they don't pick up his option and they get him for closer to 10-12 mil euros. If not them, maybe milan/inter or roma.

Very good point!Okmilan Lamela would be so much better for us if got got Hernanes. But as someone else here pointed out, there is no mention of us being linked with him. That just sounds like a rumor that has infested milanmania.com Too bad though, because he would be perfect for Milan. Sad
well we REALLY need a central midfielder with good passing skills. Seedorf's good form has proved this recently, he was very important in our recent games.
Hernanes remains my first choice but I've always liked Aquilani, so he would also be a good option. He has all the talent to become one of the best central mids in the games, too bad his injuries has slowed him down.

my choices for the summermercato
>Taiwo (done deal)
>Ganso
>Astori
>Aquilani/Hernanes (Pirlo & Gatusso OR Ambrosini out)
>G.Rossi (ibra OUT)
>Poli
>V.Bommel (extend contract)
>Marchetti (Amelia replacement)
The chairman of Palermo, Zamparini increased rumors about the possible transfer of the ace Javier Pastore to Juventus: "He will transfer to a great club, who could also be Italian".

"We have not been contacted by Juventus and I really don't think he enters into the Bianconeri's budget," Zamparini told GR Parlamento. "I have been approached by other clubs, such as Real Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester City but the player has said he doesn't want to move and will remain at Palermo, unless he changes his mind."

Braida has a mancrush on Pastore. I still hate galliani for fact we didn't get him in 2009. Briada told Galliani about him months before Zamperini got him, and Galliani stalled on 8 million euros.

Nice. One more member joins and we are ready to petition.

Though, would you take Patore over Ganso?

Yes. Same age. More swag
Well, Pastore is more suitable for the pure trequartista role and we have evidence from this after seeing him play to seasons in the Serie A. Ganso I see more in front of the defense or anyway in the 3 man midfield. In terms of technical potential I think both of them have what it takes to be the best of their generations so a good question would be seeing which of the two has better mental attributes.

Most importantly for us, I think, is to see which of the two roles we need filled. Do we have a greater interest in a classical trequartista player, like a new Kakà, or someone in the midfield. Tough question. It also depends on whether we will get another trequartista or possibly keep Boateng in that POSITION (not role, since he has other characteristics).

The thing is, to reacquire our grandeur we need two creative players in the middle. It's not enough to either have a creator in the mid-3 or a creator upfront if we have 3 other uncreative players, regardless of their dynamism or physicality. Think of Carletto's Milan; Pirlo, Seedorf and Kakà.

In a perfect world we would get both of them. But considering Ganso is worth 30-35 million and Pastore a similar amount*, we will probably get only one. So if we only get one of them, I'd take Pastore. That way we would get a quality trequartista and place Seedorf/Pirlo as the second "creationist". So something like this:

----------------------- Pastore
Clarence/Pirlo ------ Bommel/Ambro ----- Boateng

In my opinion this is better than putting Ganso in that role, where he might underachieve or otherwise do the following:

----------------------- Boateng
Clarence/Pirlo ------ Bommel/Ambro ----- Ganso

The balance of creation/power is the same, but the middle three are now weakened. It's sort of like playing Seedorf and Pirlo together all over again.

So, given the choice to take one or the other and not changing any other player in the midfield, I would opt for Pastore. Should we get other players to change the dynamics of our midfield, I might change my mind.

* … I've heard Zamparini talk bs to the media often, so I'm not sure exactly what he is asking for. How much do you guys recon we would have to cash out for him?
