I think it's pretty clear Pato's been frozen out until his situation has been resolved. I said it from the beginning, I think this "injury" has been used to cover up his problems with the management and not playing. After all, he got injured during the Anderlecht game, got through the game and scored a goal to boot and then he's been confirmed to essentially just have a bruise. That doesn't keep you out for a month and a half.

Note his agent also said that Pato isn't going to ask for a transfer (maybe because he already did) and that it's up to Milan to evaluate offers. To me, the signals suggest we're going to sell Pato this January should a decent offer come in. I don't think Berlusconi will object either anymore after describing him as a "problem" after Pato's outburst.

Honestly, I can't keep defending him in terms of keeping him either. I want to give him until the end of the season because we all know what he's capable of, but if he never plays then then it's a waste, especially given the frustration/outburst he showed after Anderlecht.

Dev, I am with you. I feel that Pato (and to a similar extent, Robinho) can be useful or very useful for this Milan, but they are both frustrating players (perhaps a bit unfair on Robinho of current stage, as he is after all contributing goals and assists). Pato is mentally and physically fragile, while Robinho simply don't seem to care. I am afraid that they have become a liability for the team despite their teammates have inferior football talent.

For that reason, I can't make up my mind if I want them (either or both) leave in January or in the coming summer. I am going to have to support our management on whatever they do.

Completely agree, I think Pato is in a similar situation to Sneijder at the moment, only patos situation as a little more mutual respect between club and him as it seems, I mean nothing bad being said back and fourth and it's not a question of money really but both moves share a similar outcome, they'll benefit the clubs in their own ways and some ways they possibly wont.

Inter and Sneijder
Negatives: There losing a world class player obviously who will be hard to replace.
Positives: They'll save on the wage bill and if they do replace him with someone good they'll have made a smart move.

Milan and Pato
Negatives:I, along with many other fans have supported him for a long time, it wont be as emotional as Maldini retired or Sheva leaving but none the less. Also, he may end up fulfilling his potential which I'd then regret.
Positives:We'll take in a sence a 'burden(sp?)' off our team because he's occupying a big wage and isn't showing for it. Furthermore, we can replace him with someone who can play regularly and make a difference for us.

I would do a Pato/Silva swap.

Either David Silva of City or Thiago Silva of PSG or Anderson Vital da Silva (Dedé) of Vasco da Gama. Heck, it would be basically be a Silva/Silva swap, as Pato himself is Alexandre Rodrigues da Silva.

If he truly wishes to get back to old form and repay back the club, he should announce that he will imitate Redondo and forfeit all salary until he starts to play regularly and score regularly. That would show his sincerity and loyalty, and will earn back the fans' support.

Yeah, if he does what you suggest, I am convinced he has boost up his character. But it is not. We can see how Shaarawy play (very motivated, disciplined and hardworking) compared to Pato. No wonder Allegri benched him even he was not injured. One side I am sad that Pato has not shown great attitude in the game (not he is trouble make but he is just not what Allegri likes from his players) but the other side I am glad that even Pato could be sit on the bench.
