Summer Mercato 2011
This financial fair-play is probably the reason why we will probably buy some young and promising players and future stars like Ganso ... Then, we will probably struggle to pay, so it's now or never.

There are two ideas behind that:
- building a new squad
- having future stars means that if we are in trouble financially in the coming years, we'll have players to earn huge amounts of money

It's the way I understand our sudden will to invest on WC/young star players ...

So stop laughing at Juventus !

Long term it's also better financially because young players tend to earn only a fraction of what older players, or players near their prime earn. So when financial fairplay sets in, it makes more sense to have a bunch of players approaching their prime on lower wages when financial fairplay sets in, since our wage bill can be less at that point. This also means that the younger players' new contracts will be negotiated in the new environment (Which will surely be an enviroment where players play for less money)
seems like we will snap up ganso, i think i heard somewhere that he has an italian passport, can anyone confirm that.

great post ur completely right, it would be alot smarter to invest in the likes of pastore/ganso/hernanes/neymar etc as a pose to big players like getting kaka back or ronaldo .. one of their wages are probably equal to 2-3 of those players not to mention ronaldos transfer fee would probably equal to almost all 4 of them..

on another note . aftter watching barca real game today i have to say pepe-silva would probably be the best partnership to ever exsist..

God please no Pepe. He's not a particularly good defender that relies on his physique and strength but is not smart with his positioning or reading of the game. He's also reckless and violent.

It is still confusing. There is nothing coming from agent, officials and similar stated that Ganso has Italian passport. Only football websites and some news told that he has but nothing from pretty reliable person yet.

Thats another stupid rule from the Italian FA. Why do they enforce a rule about 1 non EU signing from outside of Serie A per year?
Just does not make sense.

i think its since Italy bombed at Euro 2008 it was to stop foreign players coming and taking the places of promising Italians like Abate for instance, so the domestic youth has a chance of coming through.

Still it's a stupid rule though. You just buy players within EU or with an EU passport. It doesn't force clubs to buy Italian players nor to develop them.
