Summer Mercato 2011
I'm sure we have bought Papa. Don't believe all the reports around the internet.
I don't understand why people are being so harsh on him. He's only 22 FFS! He'll improve in the future.

I don't believe these Kaka rumors. I don't think Galliani will make the same mistake he did with Sheva.

Well if kaka is free like Sheva then yes but not if any money has to change hands

I don't want to repeat myself, but i do.
I think in order to criticize Papa, we first have to actually see him play.
ONE bad game and he was out.
And some people just say that Bonera is just more flexible as a player.

If i were to say BONERA is the worst milan player i hate to see on the pitch
Papa is better than Bonera imo. He's physically better and a better reader of the game. I think we're set in the defense with the arrival of Mexes and Astori, but Allegri should have faith in the young defenders like Didac and Papa. If we win the Scudetto early then some minutes for them won't do any harm. From what I've seen (albeit very limited) from Espanyol, Didac has played very well, at least defensively, he needs to learn to cross. He's a good athlete on the pitch. Players like Papa, Didac, Merkel, Strasser, Verdi, Albertazzi, Astori, Paloschi etc are the future of Milan. You don't always need to spend heavily to have a winning team, especially now that the Financial Fair Play will be incorporated. Just look at Juve. Two dynamic and creative midfielders, a trequartista and a left back are all Milan needs at the moment. We don't need the C.Ronaldos, Messis, Robbens etc. Great players, but not needed.

I'd like to see out Antonini and Bonera. Whenever they play, we're in trouble. Better Zambrotta and Yepes by a mile.

All teams aiming to win the CL have to spend ... But not necessarely crazy amounts of money, these teams need to spend smartly, wisely ...

About Antonini, I'd keep him, not as our starter for next season, but as the LB sub. We need a new player there, someone better, but if we sell Antonini, that will leave us with the one-year-later-than-currently Zambrotta who seems to become injury prone.

Too risky ...

IMO, to fix our FB situation, we need to keep Abate as our starter, Antonini as a sub, and Zambrotta as third choice for the RB or LB (as he can play in both positions). That means we need a new LB for the first XI and a RB for the bench ...

About Papa, I actually don't care if we keep him or sell him, as he hasn't played a lot, I will have faith in the choice of Allegri and Galliani regarding the player. About Bonera, I think everybody will agree that it has to be his last season in Milan.

Depending on the performances of Yepes when he will be called during this end of season (like tomorrow), he should be awarded a new one year contract ...

Actually, we're in a weird situation because the choices our management will make in the next few weeks will have big consequences for the next year/years ...
One should not speak ill of the dead.
So stop laughing at Juventus !

That's what I meant. Wise spending is always better than heavy spending. The same way Galliani spent in the past 2 transfer windows. The only "star" player we need is Ganso, a position in which we are desperate and a class player is needed.

If we sell Antonini, that would leave us with Zambrotta, Didac and the new LB (providing that Galliani will buy one). Zambrotta can play on both sides, and we have Oddo, who has another year on his contract. I don't think we'll buy another RB.

About Papa, there were a few offers in January, from Espanol and Napoli IIRC, which were rejected. That leaves me thinking that the staff have faith in him.

Yepes has another year on his contract, so he'll also be a Milan player the next season.

The current young players we have will certainly improve a lot the next few years. We have some great old players, like Pirlo, Seedorf, Gattuso, Van Bommel, Nesta, Inzaghi, Zambrotta, Ambrosini etc, from which the young prospects can learn A LOT about technical and mental aspect of the game, and also a top class coaching staff. Just remember Abate, and you'll see what I mean. That's why I think Allegri, Galliani and co should have faith in them.

Any croatian or knowledgeable members care to comment on Milan Badelj?

In my opinion one of our top priorities should be a good passing/playmaking CM. I hate the midfield we play without Pirlo, but as he's getting older we need to look at replacements. Obviously I'd love Hernanes or Modric, but neither are likely to leave.

Sahin hinted he'd like to go to italy and talks to boateng, but since they will be in ucl he won't go.

Everytime I've seen Badelj in Europa league, he's impressed me. Passer, big, strong tackler, good work rate.
Never seen him play actually. Just heard some good things about him. An alternative for Pirlo would be Poli imo. He looks good, as someone said some posts before, he was a key part of the Samp side who qualified for the CL last season. Good passing and vision, good work rate and team work, fine tackler. Young and has potential to become a great play-making CM.

Inter are interested in Sahin, according to Branca. Sahin said that he'd love to play for Milan one day. They're in the CL, we'll be in the CL too, and we have better chances to win it than Dortmund (no offense to them, great side, but no chance to win it). I don't see why he would turn down a Milan offer.

We're linked with Montolivo and Aquilani, but I'm not sure I would like them at Milan. Both look nothing special to me. Aquilani is injury prone and isn't very good physically to hold the CM position, while Montolivo is a more balanced player, still nothing compared to Pirlo's vision and passing.

Poli, in my opinion is more of a DM/CM than a playmaker. A good all around CM but more like montolivo/ambrosini mix than pirlo

it's not that he'd turn down milan. It's not that dortmund won't sell him cause they are in ucl. He expires in 2013, and has a buyout in 2012, so maybe then.
