But i'll rephrase, minimum a loan cause he's looked awful. Bonera is very meh but as depth, he's fine. Plays every position at a competent level, is my 5th choicer cb anyway so when you get there it's not like you're expecting baresi, maldini, nesta
I am not having a go at you, you have the right to say what you think, but WHEN and WHERE exactly have you seen him play? Two, three games? That one bad game vs Cesena?
And to say that he is worse than Bonera? (who as depth is...fine?).
I have to kindly disagree...
Fair enough and you're right. I'll throw in pre-season too, he just seems SO far away to me. Sell might be harsh, but surely a loan to a side where he can get consistent games is needed. He's worse than Yepes, and I'd rather have bonera for versatility.
What do you all think of Menez? He's not my first choice, but I think he has a lot of talent, and is a player who can fit in a variety of roles for us....
His style always reminds me of kaka with more wing tendencies. I wouldn't mind him at all, and the possibility of pursuing someone like Cristian Ericksen or Erik Lamela (who are only 18/19). We can bring them slower, and Menez has versatility to play variety of positions if they prove to grow faster than we thought (like winger in a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 etc.)
Menez not for us and I also disagree greatly with you regarding Sokratis. He's a million times better than Bonera. Do you watch the games??
i agree with Ca Rossonero on Papa... he even didnt convince me before we signed him, Genoa plays with 3 man defence, as 3 man defence, at right, his mistakes can be fixed by Sweeper but at us, if he makes a mistakes, it costs us...When he found his chances, Yepes did much better, when Nesta missed, he replaced him, had some numbers of solid games...He was even close to scoring from headers in some occasions...i cant say the same about Bonera or Papa... Bonera proved many times that he is not a solid CB, as he can make a mistake any time...
We need to have solid reserve Cb's...Nesta's injury problems are increased in the last years...Mexes and Astori are much better CB's than both Papa and Bonera... Off course i would ask for Luiz too but we missed the train...Mexes is solid defender compared to Bonera...he can solve his weak points with Nesta and Silva...
i just want us signing a quality left full back who can attack well and solid defensively...Kolarov...
i want Abate to improve on his last touches, his assisting, scoring, crossing...
Then lets talk about midfield. if we want to win CL, we need BTB player in midfield(in previous post, i mentioned how Fletcher worked like it in last years Milan games, Fletcher esque)
We cant expect Seedorf do it this role for all season... Low wages, Short term 1 year contract. i'd not want Seedorf to stay...He passed his best... He played well vs inter but one game doesnt change my opinion as i look to all season,
he didnt play that well to stay one more year... im curious to see what Milan will do with the contracts of Seedorf, Pirlo and Ambrosini...As i know, we will renew Van Bommel. just because he deserved it...
i want us to sign Lucas Fernandes, rather than Ganso. but im sure we will end up with him... i think inter doesnt have room for him, Sneijder is a great playmaker...if inter signs Ganso, they will waste his talents on left side... Sanchez is more inter signings than Ganso...Eriksen is a nice talent, i dont know Lamela... Eriksen could be useful...
im still saying that We need a vice ibrahimovic...inzaghi at that age cant do this job...

yup i watch the games. Tell me exactly what Sokratis has done to impress you aside from being 7 years younger than bonera?
I don't particularly think Bonera is great or anything but as 4th/5th cb who can play FB when needed. Meh it's works

I disagree, I believe that Menez/Sanchez type of player would do wonders for us because that's exactly what we need. We intend to struggle whenever a team parks the bus as Palermo and Bari did. We could be much more dangerous in that situations if we had a player like that because we would play wider and with our current style we use both sides very rarely, concentrating our play through a middle.
As for Socratis, I think he'll be revelation next season, please people, give him some time to settle into a big team. He's also very young and paying cca 7 mil.€ to get him means Braida and co. saw a good defender for the future. Also, knowing the age of our current CBs, we should hang onto him and not make quick decisions about his future...
We're being linked with Nasri now. Nice little player, and I think he'll do great with us (if we sign him of course).

I think we should only sign 2 midfielders, 1 left back, 1 between Astori and Mexes (I prefer Astori, younger, Italian and home grown at Milan) and 1 attacking midfielder. Van Bommel, Seedorf, Pirlo etc etc have been doing well this season, but I don't think Milan should renew their contracts. They just don't have many years ahead of them. The only good thing is that they can tutor youngsters and help them to grow.

i think that we will sign both of them...Mexes is free, Astori low cost...i dont remember if we sold his half or we still own his half...otherwise Cagliari president will ask for at least 10 m euros for him...i think this was just talk that we offered half of Astori for half of Lazzari.(Didac Vila (maybe loan), Jankulovski(leave for homeland), Antonini if we sign a world class FB, Bonera, Papa(loan))
This season showed us that 3DM doesnt work and however for left side of midfield, we just have Seedorf...Merkel is not ready to take this place starting from next season...Emanuelson is not the ideal player for there. so we need to spend there...im thinking that we should play Merkel as CAM to get experince and regain confidence...
Then Ganso or this kind of player. i dont think that Ganso will be Seedorf's replacement cuz Seedorf's role in midfield trio is much more important than CAM.
The interesting question is: Will Milan bring another quality midfielder and not just one?! No one is talking about that...

P.S.
IT'S MRKI!!!
Cagliari only owns half of Astori. Mexes for free is a great signing, but I highly doubt he'll accept the bench when Nesta/Thiago Silva are fit and if Nesta doesn't retire. Meanwhile Sokratis is young and can only improve, along with Astori. So we have more than enough depth for the cetnral defender position.
Bonera, Antonini, Janku and maybe Zambro need to go. Then we'll have to sign another right back, as a backup to Abate. Didac won't leave so early; he should be given games, I think Allegri will play him if we win the Scudetto early. Another left back is needed though. We've been linked with Kolarov and Balzaretti, which are both great options. They can defend and attack at the same time, which is great, providing width, which he have lacked since the times of Serginho and Cafu. At least Abate is improving quickly.
Seedorf is getting on. I love him as a player, he's given everything to us, and I want to thank him for everything. But it's time to move on. Merkel should be given more playing time next year, which I think Allegri will do. I'd love to see him developing into a Pirlo-type of player. Also Poli would be an interesting option for the vice Pirlo spot. Strasser is another player with potential, a little Gattuso but with some more vision than Rino. If we sign an attacking midfielder, then Boateng should play in the midfield trio. He's strong enough to play there, and has the technique needed to become a good box to box midfielder. Still we need one or two extra midfielders who can both defend and attack, without being exposed at the back and going forward when a bit of creativity and technique is needed. I really like Yann M'Vila for the midfield position, mostly as a midfield destroyer. I have seen him a few times, I was impressed.
For the AMC position, Ganso would be perfect, but so would be Lucas Marcelinho, Nasri etc etc, nearly all the players we are linked with.
I'd love to see Paloschi back to us. Then maybe a vice Ibra, but that isn't a problem right now. The thing is I think we have to play with a fast and creative striker, not that Ibra isn't, but I hate when he slows down the play so often. An interesting option would be Giuseppe Rossi, who would form a formidable partnership with Pato upfront imo.

In terms of Bonera & Papa, Bonera is the worst defender on our team, bar none. And please people, stop saying he's versatile. He's equally bad at all of the Defensive positions. LB, RB, CB, he's awful. Papastathopoulos played very little this season, and IMO impressed in the Napoli game. He worked very hard, although was out of position here and there. He wasn't given a lot of time to adapt. I certainly wouldn't be upset if he was sold.
I think we need 5 CB's for the year (Nesta, T. Silva, Astori, Mexes, Yepes)
I think we could certainly get rid of all of the others we have, or keep Papa for 1 more season. In terms of Fullbacks, we need a LB (everyone agrees), and Emmanuelsson OR Vila will be the LB replacement. Abate holds down the right side, and Antonini OR Zambrotta can replace him. This seems all pretty standard.
For midfield, no one knows what will happen with the renewals, however I give my vote for Van Bommel to renew. I would not re-new Seedorf or Pirlo. I may renew Ambrosini, and make next year Gattuso's last season with us. In that case, I would buy an ACM ( Ganso, Lucas, Nasri, Fabregas, Honda), a player of this mold. Boateng and Merkel can also occupy this spot as backups. In the forward slot, Ibra's going nowhere, so the forward will stay as is, and I bet Inzaghi will be resigned. Possibly Cassano will go. This is what our squad may look like next year:
GK: Abbiati, Amelia/Marchetti, Roma
CB: Nesta, Silva, Mexes, Astori, Yepes, Sokratis
FB: Abate, NEW LB, Vila, Emmanuelson, Antonini, Zambrotta
MF: Boateng, Van Bommel, Ganso, Gattuso, Merkel, Strasser, Ambrosini, (1 or 2 new MF)
ST: Ibrahimovic, Pato, Inzaghi, Robinho
Out: Amelia, Bonera, Oddo, Jankulovski, Legrottaglie, Pirlo, Seedorf, Cassano?
In: New Gk, Mexes, Astori, NEW LB, 2 New MF, Ganso?
If by some chance Allegri decides he wants to change our identity (I doubt it) and start buying wide players like Sanchez, Menez, Robben, then this system would change greatly, but I think we will stay as is with 7 or so changes in the Summer (same formation)
