Not that I am terribly concerned with how the Spanish teams are doing, but a thread probably won't hurt.
Barcelona was held to a draw 1-1 at Gijon today after 16 (or 17?) consecutive wins. I guess that's something to talk about?

Well, it's the kind of ridiculous run Real or Barcelona are able to get in Liga ... That simply shows that despite Barcelona playing exactly the same way with almost the same players for years, no coach in Spain ever decided to try anything, like a physical game, a 10 man defence (I'm sorry to tell that, but in this championship, getting 1 point against Barcelona is like getting a win ?), or other things.
When you see the scoring rate of some of the Barcelona players, it's as ridiculous as what happens sometimes in England !!
Anyway, that gives a chance to Real Madrid to have a kind of come back ...
One should not speak ill of the dead.
So stop laughing at Juventus !

When was the last time that a team other than Real Madrid or Barcelona won La Liga?
EDIT: Just checked, it was 2003-04 when Valencia won it. And, since 1984-85, the two big teams have dominated La Liga with the only exceptions of the following 4 seasons:
1995-96: Atletico Madrid;
1999-2000: La Coruna Deportivo;
2001-02 & 2003-2004: Valencia.
That's amazing. And that's not a complement.
Yeah, La Liga is a Scottish Premier League in sunny climate.

Haha, Mourinho got his first home lost after 9 years, and it wasn't against Barca, but a team named Sporting Gijon (they also beat us 2-0 in a friendly match).
La Liga is getting so boring, only El Classico is interesting to watch. Even that is getting a bit boring, considering they'll play each other 4 more times (including the CL, no chance Spurs and Shakhtar are getting through. Barca's going to win La Liga again.
Villareal and Valencia are two interesting teams, I have followed them whenever possible this year. Atletico Madrid are a good team, but terribly inconsistent. I'd like to see them with a better defense and a better coach.
The thing that I really don't like about Spain is the defense. Pretty much every team bar Barca doesn't know how to defend, I don't know if it's their attacking philosophy or just terrible defenders and coaches.
