Summer mercato 2024

I just can’t believe we are weeks into this transfer campaign and still negotiating for a player with an expiring contract. Why we are not at plan B blows my mind. Fofana better be the truth is all I’m saying.

Exactly. I totally agree with the bolded part.

I don't agree completely on the italicized part. I think Pioli was an influential figure in Milan history. He literally pulled Milan out of banter era and won us the Scudetto; since then, Milan has been steadily staying near the top. Pioli doesn't squander talent IMO. I think he just doesn't have what it takes to bring Milan to the next level and may have stayed a year or two too long, but he was (and still is) a hero for Milan for what he has done.

I think a better analogy would be Giampaolo for that purpose (and let's hope that it will not turn out like that).

Pobega and poor Adli should be offloaded.

I agree. LB situation is weird. We attempted to buy a backup for Theo in FBT, and it has been a disaster. We have since neglected this part of the field. Theo should not have to play 50 games a season, and if he ever goes down, we are screwed.

-FBT is terrible and MIA.

-Bartesaghi is not ready and by the looks of it, is being groomed to be a LCB with Futuro.

-Terracciano should not be a Milan player and at this point in his career, he is a player at the level of Como. Even so, he came to us as a right sided player from Verona. So if anything, he should be on the right. Either way, he is just SO uncomfortable with the ball on the left side. On top of that, he always seems confused in his movements, loses his player constantly, presses too slow and finds himself out of position all the time.

-Jimenez is not a LB. He is an exciting player (going forward, at least), but it's clear that if he plays as a fullback, it should be on the right side.

So yea. It's weird that we haven't been linked to a single LB.

You're right Xu. Pioli played a big role in dressing room unity and instilling pride in the club among the players. He was needed to make the jump to CL level. He is a rich man's Ranieiri Smile
For me, Pioli is a rich man's Zaccheroni and poor man's Allegri. Big Grin

Emerson Palmieri would have been the perfect Theo backup, he had his best season in EPL and still 30 yrs(less than Morata), Italian and would be enough to tackle any Bottom 10-12 clubs.
Forza Diavolo ale!!!
Albert Gudmundsson to Fiorentina is done, that means Nicolás González will go to Juventus leaving Chiesa to join us for 15 mili?
Chiesa to Milan would 'cherry on top' moment of the transfer market. Our both Midfield and Attack would be finally completed. Probaby best team since 2007 on paper. I am on my knees
Forza Diavolo ale!!!

You forgot Kalulu (and the injured, Florenzi). Royal also played a number of matches at LB (and CB), and if he is the RB starter, there is Calabria Big Grin

We have a lot of make-shift LB, making a small team of backup for Theo, very ready, so we do not need a concrete solution for a short term.

Maybe it will change in January.
Fodé Ballo-Touré towards Saint-Étienne: agreement very close.
That will be great!

AC Milan manager Paulo Fonseca: “We’ve closed out market with Youssouf Fofana. We need to focus on the outgoings now”.

“We have too many players, so we are on it”.
