Anyway, back to the topic. Pato has trememdous instinct and he has such a feeling for scoring. The problem is his tactical awareness combined with his egocentricity. I understand pure strikers like him have it in their DNA to go for goal, but this often times results in incredibly stupid decisions. He always tries to dribble players by running straight at them and when he actually passes he almost always makes a bad pass. Look at Pippo for example. If he gets the ball in the middle or at the trequarti, he will always make the correct decision in passing to someone. Yes, Pato is far better than Pippo in technique and speed, but he is no Messi or Ibra who can take on the whole opposition team.

The kid has to get his act together and learn to play more intelligently. It is always an advantage to be naturally intelligent on the pitch, but you can still improve it even if you are not a natural. Unless he does so, he will never be a true Milan leader and legend.

i don`t want him to be a leader...we Have Tiago for that. let pato be the Legend. Shva wa a legend,and I never had a feeling that he was a leader of the team. Pippo was more of a leader.

Yeah, honestly I don't see him ever being a leader. With the "younger" players we have I see Thiago Silva to be the silent leader. I can actually see Pato becoming a Milan legend/great, but there is a long way to go in terms of personal improvement.

Pato trains on his day off
Alexandre Pato voluntarily turned up for training on Tuesday even though Milan had been given the day off by Massimiliano Allegri.

The 21-year-old Brazil international spent an hour and a half working on his game in an effort to convince the coaching staff to start him more regularly.

Pato has been on the bench 10 times this season despite scoring a goal every 96 minutes in Serie A.

He got the winner against Chievo at the weekend and is trying to develop a better understanding with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Don't know, follow nor care about all the gossip news about Pato and miss Berlusconi, but maybe Pato just needs some stability in his private life to jump into the "improvement wagon" again !!

The fact he trained despite the days off given by Allegri is a great indication that the guy is very motivated and is willing to work hard to be a starter again, he maybe needed to be "in trouble" to understand he has to work more than anyone because people want him to do more things on the pitch than anyone else ...

I also liked the way he celebrated his goal, showing how much he wanted to score that goal, a winning goal, a very important goal for the Serie A, the kind of goal that can give you the championship at the end of the season ...

Could not put it in better words. He is some sort of AC Milan prodigy. I remember when we hauled him in he was deemed to do great things for us. Even more than Merkel is being hyped right now (even though I am sure he will be a VERY good player). There is weight on his shoulder but he seems to start coping well with that understanding his role in the team and our achievements in the future.

Pato now has all our hope on his shoulder. Hope that he will live up to it. If he wants to come down as a true Milan legend, he will need at least one big-ear cup like Shevchenko or Kaka. Can anyone believe that as talented as he is, Pato has so far scored in only one game in Champions League? True that he hasn't had a long career by now, but that statistic is a bit pathetic for his calibre.

Wednesday's game will be his first real test, and hopefully not the last this season.
