About Hakan, it is a shame that he will leave in such a fashion, also considering that he is joining Merda (still, I wont' blame him too hard, as I will explain later). I have always made it clear that I don't mind at all keeping him in the squad due to his ability (decent) and low risk involved (knowledge of the team, continuity, etc.), but only at a low cost to match his status (not a starter quality). 2.5m, or even 3m, I am fine. So, in this sense, the management did a good job not giving in. 

I hope that this sends out a right signal to players with the "wrong" idea. by "wrong" idea, I mean, I understand that they want to watch out for themselves, and I don't blame them for wanting a big contract, but they also need to evaluate if their aspirations match Milan's goals & status. If so, they are welcome to stay; if not, they can leave, and that's okay too. No need to pound your own chest, kiss the badge, or make empty promise that you can't back up. You are just making a fool of yourself.

I wonder if Hauge maybe will have a more central role this year. Leao with hos lazy attitude will maybe go, Hakan is gone. Hauge wants to really fights for his place in the team, and wonder if the management takes this in considiration and actually wants to rely on him.

Thats a huge gamble but you never know. With a good pre-season anything can happen. Hauge deserves his chance. And as i said before, i think he can do pretty well in Hakans role. He has good passing, creative, and a good shoot. He is not the qucikest or the strongest so i think he fits better in that role.
