Can't say I quite understand the hesitation to renew Zlatan. 15 goals in 16 games is the best we've had in years.

Also no transfer fee. Show me a 20 goal+ per season striker that you can buy for 7m euros including salary. He's the cheapest option and has been pivotal for our confidence this season. We're no different than that 6th place side we've been over the last few years. If we make CL this year it will be in large part thanks to Ibra

Zlatan should be renewed. We need to stop looking at age, and instead look at performance. Having said that, we'd be stupid to think he can be ready to play 40 games for us next season even if he does stay fit. We need another CF. And a good one. Not just a back up, but a starter. Because I'd expect that this player will play at least 25 games and we'll need him to be in the double digits of goals scored.

I don't know who that player is. Maybe Belotti. Maybe someone else. But either way, it shouldn't stop us from extending Zlatan just like how extending Zlatan shouldn't stop us from signing another great CF.

Belotti seems to be the likely option - hopefully Cairo is more reasonable these days
