I heard he was sick with the Flu, not injured. The commentators said so. It's disappointing I know, we could have used him tonight.

However, if Tevez comes as you want (& I think he will), it will be Robinho who sees the door in May.

The logic is simple: With Ibra playing as a SS lately, along with Tevez, Robinho & Cassano, we will only have Pato as a Box Striker. Inzaghi is as good as gone and therefore we will need to keep Pato for tactical reasons.

Cassano (injury aside) has been better than Robinho and it seems the Club (& Players) miss him. If he can return to 100% and Tevez comes, then say goodbye to Robinho. I think it's that simple.

After watching tonights game, it's been reaffirmed that we need a LB & CDM/anchor. Ambrosini & Antonini can no longer play in this club. It's too risky. They are no longer (or never was in the case of Antonini) Scudetto-Challenging material. I would use Aquilani or Seedorf there until we manage to get Montolivo, DDR, or Casemiro.

I'm not sure who for LB, but we need someone.

I was wondering how come Pato didn't get to play today. He has a very decent scoring record against Genoa too.

I hope to see him kick some ass and pick up confidence against Plzen this Tuesday.

Agree mostly other than a couple of points. I mentioned in a post recently when discussing Tevez that I thought it seems more likely Robinho may leave. It wouldn't surprise me as Santos want him badly and we could use that to our advantage with some possible deals.

I wouldn't use Aquilani or Seedorf in front of the defence as they don't have the strength or bite in the tackle to do what Allegri wants. For now, Van Bommel remains first choice and I'd reassess in January to see if we can get someone in.

Also, I don't mind Antonini, but he's a squad player, not a starter.

I would guess he'll get a rest against Plzen to fully recover.

AC Milan's Alexandre Pato: Massimiliano Allegri must tell me how he wants me to improve


The Brazilian attacker has endured an injury-blighted 2011, with eight injuries during the course of the year greatly restricting his role in the squad.

Milan's interest in Carlos Tevez as a replacement for the recovering Antonio Cassano has fuelled talk that Pato may be on his way out of the club in January, as the Brazilian has been criticised for his form since returning from his latest injury.

Allegri urged Pato on Monday to return to his best shape, but the the 22-year-old has requested more guidance from the coach.

"[Former coach Carlo] Ancelotti would come to me and explain what I had to do on the field of play," Pato told Il Corriere dello Sport. "Allegri should do the same, he should tell me what aspects of my game I should improve.

"I do not want to judge what he told the press, because he is my coach and I have to respect it.

"It is true that I have to improve, but so do my team-mates. Every day you can do something more or learn something new."

Despite being plagued by several injuries over the last 12 months, Pato declared himself happy with his own achievements throughout the year.

"2011 was positive, for sure," Pato said. "Milan won the Scudetto and the Supercoppa, while I scored important goals and gave my contributions to these successes.

"I can say that I am satisfied. The downside to it were the injuries."

The Brazil international went on to declare that he would not fear for his place if Milan sign Tevez in January.

"Allegri said it, right?," Pato asked, when quizzed if Milan would have the best attack in the game if the Argentine were to arrive at San Siro.

"Well, I am convinced that, with or without Tevez, we will all give our best to go as far as possible in every competition.

"The coach will decide the one who is left out. My job is only to work."

When asked if he would accept to extend his existing deal, which expires in 2014, the Brazilian simply replied: "Why not?"

Pato has scored three goals in 12 appearances for Milan so far this term.

This is not a pure goal.crap coinage. Capo Ultra also posted Pato's interview in its entirety at another Milan forum, so this seems true.

IHMO, Pato could and should have handled this differently.

I don't see how this interview creates any trouble. He said he is willing to learn if the coach tells him what to do. While he still said he intends to sign on in 2014...

I agree that he could have just went to Alegri and told him the same thing directly, but maybe he did also say it directly. We can't know for sure.
