The atmospphere around the team is one thing but they beat two very weak teams that most fans would not give much credit for if, for example, Brazil had beaten them. Lost to Belgium, tied Colombia, Sweden one of the more toothless knockout stage teams in recent World Cups. The shape and discipline has been good but results are not anything to hype about.

But reza that's exactly my point, no one is hyping them. There's a little belief starting to creep in on reaching the semis (which is normal), but everyone here seems hesitant to get carried away. 

Yes, the results aren't anything special but no one is pretending otherwise. However, equally so, it's unfair not to credit the side for their performances, as they've played beyond expectations.

The key thing though is there's no hype or arrogance this time round, I think the criticism is unfair.

The Queen's guards are playing it's coming home at Buckingham palace. Even their princes are tweeting it's coming homer. I'd that's surely some hype! From what I have been reading and seeing on social media, everyone seems convinced it's coming home. 

Apart from that however, it's incredibly boring to watch them play. I really hope that Croatia vs England is gonna be a good game.

I don't get it, so they shouldn't celebrate a big victory? There wasn't any arrogance in either case or an air of superiority shown by the response to winning, they are allowed to support the team.

Again, if it's to do with the whole "it's coming home" thing, you have to understand that's considered the football anthem/slogan for English football.

I live here and I promise you while normally I understand (even agree) people having a dislike for the English ignorance and arrogance, this time around there's a very different atmosphere with how people support the team. That doesn't mean they shouldn't support them and at this point in reaching the semis, there's genuine reason to believe they can go all the way as anything can happen in 2 games.

Now I can't promise that the reaction will remain humble if the team goes all the way, it's something I'm a little wary of myself.

Edit: there is one big exception and that's the BBC and ITV commentators who are generally derided by the public who find the nonsense they spout insufferable
