Summer Mercato 2011
Am I the only one on here that rates Aquillani higher than average? Huh

Galliani saying that he was always the Mr. X is of course a load of BS, but for me, he is still an excellent signing. Inter fans wanted him, and most of the articles in the media that I've read singled him out as a great signing.

Follow him tomorrow with the Azzuri, we might get a clearer picture where he stands atm.

Personally, I think Napoli got the best transfer season of all the Serie A teams. Milan got a great prospect, three squad/depth players with one starter. To be honest, if it were for all the BS by Berlu, Galli and Riola, the confidence will be better. I say that bc among all the transfer MADE this summer by all the teams. There really are only a few players who Milan could afford and get that would improve thte squad better than now. Of course, Sanchez,Kun, Nasri, Sahin and Contenao would be great additions, but either Milan can't afford them or they don't want to come to Milan. Of the rest of those players, I think Vidal, Inler and Diego would have been better choice than Nocerino and Aqua. But, Nocerino signing was only bc of Flamini out till Jan, most likely whole season to regain his okay form, MVB slight injury and Gattuso suspendion in CL, thus can't really say much. However, Milan should have signed Vidal or Inler instead of renewing Ambro from the beginning, since they are better players and in their prime.
To me, Aqua should realize that he is not creative enough to play as CAM and start learning to play as a CM in front of the defense. That's also why I thnk Diego should been sign by Milan as he offers a lot offensively. True that he had been crap since Juve, but I think all he needs is to play with better skills offensive players to regain his form. Beside he costs close to nothing for A Madrid, can't understand why Milan won't gamble on him.

I will give it a day or two before closing the thread, since some members still did not have a chance to express their thoughts on our mercato.

Well then maybe make a poll or something, it would be better to rate this mercato IMO.

Nella gioia e nell' dolore, per il Milan eterno amore!
dont forget the stupid rules of uefa
homegrown players by club and country
that is why
may be thats why we choose nocerino and aquilani over inler
and i dont really rate diego that high
i consider him the same quality as aquilani
so all in all
its a good mercato for me this season

How high do you rate Ambro and Carrick?

Bc thats Aqua level.
Overall, Aqua is probably a bit better or the same as Diego but offensively, Diego is better.
That rule is not even close to be enforce. Also, don't Milan have enough home grown and National players already with Abate, Antonini, Nesta, Abbiatti, Amelia, Zambro, Gattuso, Pato, Cassano, and Bonera.

First, Ambro in his prime was an indispensable part of the squad. His work rate and ability to do a little bit of everything well - is really important to have for any team.

Second, many of you said that Diego for 15m is an epic deal. Why aren't you happy with Aquilliani for 8 milions then? Tongue

NO! I actually rate him quite high! His only worry is that he is injury prone, but he is one of the most talented mids around, really. If he hasnt been injured that much he wouldve been one of the best mids in europe!
Diego would been a better option or actually, getting both would be ideal, as they can play together. Anyhow, let's see how they perform on this year. I really would love Aqua to show that he I as great as some of you are making him to be, bc that would be less time of Slowdorf.

No, Aquilani isn't a bad signing at all and is definitely above average. If he plays as he has then he'll be a useful addition to the squad, while if Allegri can get the best of him then he'll be a brilliant signing.

I really don't put Carrick at Ambro's level, who in all honesty I rate world class when he plays to his strengths.

Aquilani's currently at a similar level to Montolivo or others like that, a player that is really useful but hasn't ever really reached the top. Ability shouldn't be ignored and Aquilani is really talented.
