Poor display but unlucky to concede that goal. Verratti will miss second leg but overall he has done nothing for the NT so it shouldn't matter. Monday at the San Siro the midfield needs to do lots more, Darmian's crosses were by far the best supply!

Thats what Id go with , at the San Siro infront of 80k I think they win by and by the 2 goals.
But it will be same lineup minus Verratti.
Immobile is a great man for racking up goals against Benevento Cagliari Verona Genoa Milan.even Juve.But outside Serie A his limitations are clear for all to see.
Italy lost because of Ventura. Verratti spent too much time out wide as a LM in the first half. Ventura's idea was to fall into a 4-4-2 when defending with Verratti on the left and transform into a 3-5-2 with Candreva and Darmian pushing up when attacking. At times, it looked like a 3-3-4 with Candreva and Darmian all the way up. Idiotic coaching if you ask me. It never materialized and the players were too far away from where they should be when Italy actually won the ball.....resulting in all sorts of probpems and confusion. Then Insigne goes in to play in the middle. One of the best mids in serie A this season Jorginho is rotting on the bench. I just don't understand coaches sometimes. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel and play players in the positions at which they excel in their clubs. Even worse, stop trying to make them fit into your "favorite" formation.
