First, I don't think we ever had a bid on Cesc. I think all the talk about Cesc to Milan was just an invention by deluded fans and exasperated by certain posters who claimed insider knowledge. Those posters are being called out/trashed on the other site and rightly so. The person on this site (gregapenny) obviously doesn't have the balls to come back here. (Or maybe he's having lunch with Galliani talking about plan B, ie Mr. Y)

You don't know, we don't know about Fabregas' transfer-story before his move is official. The point is all of us here in MM only use 'I think, we think' when they talk about transfer of Fabregas. We know it when it becomes official. So, why should poster who knows nothing about Fabregas' transfer-talk judged gregapenny and made fun of him?

Hey Boldboy. It's quite simple. I used the words I THINK because I never claim to KNOW what is happening in all the Cesc bs. Gregapenny instead came here and said he KNEW that Cesc was coming to Milan thanks to his "sources". He obviously was talking out of his ass. That's why I think he should be called out.

AC Milan's Adriano Galliani: Cesc Fabregas was too expensive, Real Madrid's Kaka won't return
Speaking at a press conference, the club CEO revealed that financial issues play a significant role in the inability to acquire both the former Arsenal man and the Brazilian.

AC Milan vice president Adriano Galliani has ruled out a possible San Siro return for Real Madrid's Kaka and explained that his club simply could not afford Barcelona's news signing Cesc Fabregas.

Despite various rumors that the side could acquire at least one of the two players this summer, Galliani has confirmed that neither has ever been a realistic option for his team.

In an interview with SkySport 24, the CEO commented on a number of potential transfers and even spoke cryptically about the promised signing of a 'Mister X'.

When asked about Fabregas' departure to Barcelona, Galliani spoke about the economic situation of Serie A as a whole: "He had a very high cost, but this is a problem in general for Italian clubs. We cannot compete with the money they have in Spain. Fabregas could not come to us due to revenue."

The questions then turned toward a potential return for Kaka, a move encouraged by club stalwart Gennaro Gattuso.

"We'll see what will happen. At the moment we are OK like this, even if the transfer window is open until August 31. I would be as happy as Gattuso to see Kaka at Milan again; two years ago when he transferred to Madrid, I was very moved," he explained.

"But he has a price tag too high for Milan. To come here he would have to cut his pay by much more than what Fabregas had to for Barcelona. To get him we would have to buy him outright; I'm sorry to disappoint the fans, but his hypothetical acquisition is impossible."

Galliani had little to report when asked about the mysterious 'Mister X' as rumours continue to circulate regarding the potential arrival of Fiorentina's Riccardo Montolivo or Liverpool's Aberto Aquilani. "Oh, who knows..." was all the CEO could offer.

* I understand the World is a messed up place based off of debt, and the printing of trillions of dollars, but if you're going to be a BIG Football Club, you must play the game, & figure out a way to keep your promises ( 2 Signings + a Gift). This current squad is not good enough. Galliani cannot blame our lack of signings on FFP because it didn't kick it yet so enough of the lies and deceit.

* No one cares about who Galliani "almost" signed a decade ago. Irrelevant and actually makes him look stupid for not closing the deal on Ibra, Xavi & others back when he could have

* Cesc Fabregas at €39 Million is not too expensive. He's an established Star Midfielder from the the best Footballing Nation in the World (Currently). He's also only 24 years of age. That amount is certainly valid for him as he's one of the top 20-30 best players in the World.

* Why does Galliani say "Sorry to disappoint the fans about Kaka"?? No one said they want Kaka back you bald headed idiot. Everyone thinks he's Washed Up and that he was a good sell because he's sucked since he left. No one wants him back

which is clearly not good enough, and even our Star player (Ibrahimovic) has publicly stated we need to sign more PLAYER(S), not even a player because this is not good enough to compete in the Champions League.

For those who claim Ibrahimovic is the focal point of ACM's attack, I just want to warn them. Be-careful what you wish for. This guy simply can't score in the knockout stages of the UCL. Don't believe me? Check the statistics.

In any case, I am officially exhausted with Mercato. I feel like a fool for spending so much time on this site arguing who should come and who shouldn't. Just 16 more days and this silliness will be officially over. Unfortunately, it means summer is over as well...

You think I'd be used to this by now. Ever since Sheva left, our mercatos have never panned out as well as I hoped (aside from last summer).

Still, I wouldn't say I'm disappointed. Just fatigued. Day after day and no payoff. But I really believe someone will come. Maybe not the champion caliber player we were hoping for, but someone nonetheless.

Well well well.....no Cesc? Were people reeeeeally considering Febregas as a possible signing?

When did u start following Milan? Last summer.....end of August maybe?

Our owner has to find how many millions in fines, we have a huge wage bill, Italian football has a structure (stadium ownership, poor marketing of Serie A, not taking UEFA Cup seriously) that is preventing clubs from being competitive with England, Spain etc, and we are disappointed we didn't sign Cesc? Seriously?

We are lucky we haven't sold Silva, Pato and Abate to balance the books, and promoted Strasser and Merkel to the first team because they are on the cusp of being world class.....

On a less sarcastic note one of Aquilani / Montolivo (without any attrition, Oddo obviously excepted) would make this a reasonable mercato, all things considered.

Also, I am dead set against Kaka's return, as improbable as it would be....he's not only past his best, and his wages would be way beyond what we could afford, but that would have made the purchase of El Sharaawy(sp?) a waste of time.

For tequartista we have 2 players (Robinho + Cassano) to play behind Pato and Ibra....and in a pinch, Boateng and El Shara-whats-his-name...do we need another CAM? Or is a box-to-box midfielder, who can play on the left more in keeping with our needs?

Dunno....I'm just a fan, and no one ever told me that Fabregas was definately coming, so what do I know?
