I am, however, shocked we did not get anyone. I'd come in for 25 million for Hamsik. Then get Ganso. We just apparently withdrew our bid for Montolivo. If we don't do anything the rest of this mercato we're going to be a joke.
NO CHANCE of winning anything with Gattuso/MVB/Seedorf as our midfield trio.
Furthermore, if we were to get rid of Cassano & buy Balotelli, we would be Worse, period, end of story.
Someone will come. just be patient - only another 3 weeks.
Balo for Cassano is not a bad idea when you think of it. Cassano being 29 and not really being used is a waste. Have a young Balo on our bench will pay off in the long run as Ibra gets older.
With us needing a quality creative midfielder and a good midfielder , and seeing Pastore Cesc (always Barca tho) Hamsik and Ganso (right price , clubs will release , Inler , Sahin , Monty , Aqualani all basically being available and us not going for any of them , is worrying.
Clearly they are waiting for a cut cut CUT price deal.Which is all well and good but it's not the policy a winning club has.
Thats a lot of god-potentially great mids and we go for none as of yet.Someone will arrive by Aug 31st seems to be the thought , but why then it's better to sign players early not so fan's will be happy , but to have a month or two to gel with the team players learn the system. For that to happen there must be a plan .We don't have a plan beside go for free or cheap players , well not cheap but cut price players who are out of favour or off form or really unhappy.
If we sign no1 for midfield and start with Seedorf/V.Bommel/Rino we won't be a joke or a laughing stock as nobody cares anymore , we are not a team that when fans of say Utd Chelsea Barca Madrid Bayern get drawn against us think oh no thats a very hard one. They think that could be a banana skin but not real fear.
We are below the top level and because of our record the last 4 year's and our midfield I wouldn't be too certaint playing against Lyon Porto Arsenal City Villareal that we'd progress.
Cesc to Barca was only a matter of time, I really doubt anyone hear seriously thought Milan could get him over Barca. Once again the rich got richer while the rest play catch up.
To be honest, I thought two of Hamsik, Ganso , Hernanes or Honda was going to come to Milan this summer but somehow Berlu backed out of it. Some say bc ITaly is in a recession, some say it was the fine but Italy is in a recession for over the past year while I doubt Berlu and his brain trusts would think they were going to win. Since all successful business man always plan for the worst case scenario, and Berlu did not become Forbes top 50 by being stupid or lucky.
Another I am really sick and tired of owners complaining the wages are too much, transfer fees e too much.....they should start asking questions like how come other team can afford it and they can't. Both Morratti and Berlu have been running Inter and Milan for over 20 yrs and yet they never bothered to consider building their own stadiums. Also, Globalizations and Internet age did not happen last month or last year, they have been happening over the past 15 yrs and yet, all Serie A teams did nothing about it. The EPL done it with less talents and brand name clubs than Serie A now while The German League is also doing it now, I really can't see Serie A failing if they really want to do it.
They already missed a great chance in 06- 07 when IT won the WC and Milan won the CL. But with this win over Spainsih B team and the coming Euro, as long as Milan enjoys a good campaign in CL and Napoli, best kept secret in Europe shocks a few teams in CL, it will be a good starting point for Serie A to promote it's league.
There will always be a next time, but why not this time? I think that's the question the owners of Serie A must ask.
Are we pulling out of Monty because we are signing someone else , ore because 12 million for him with a year left on contract is too much.Or because next summer he'll be free...We have literally spent nothing (7-10 million is a lot of money I know) im not for lavish free spending , but surely there is something there , we will get eaten up in CL with our current midfield.

I completely disagree with the first bolded part of your post. There were several posters on this site that really thought this was going to happen.
Regarding the second bolded part - they have been asking. The problem is simply that other leagues make more money than serie A. The politics in Italy, behavior of certain fans, and poor FIGC leadership have all contributed to Serie A's diminishing brand. And now it has culminated with Italy losing a CL spot.
So many posters here thought that this summer, we would revolutionize the squad - some even thinking we would spend 100 million (!). Truth is, Italian teams are stretched thin and we don't have the earning power to keep up with the other leagues. It is absolutely no coincidence that Germany has trumped us for 3rd coefficient after all the money the country spent on stadiums after 2006 WC.
IMO - Serie A will be in a depression for at least another 3-5 years. I think we all need to manage our expectations a little better. Right now our only focus should be on getting our second stella. Milan really have the best team in Serie A and we can win the next two scudetti. (Eventually Juve will probably edge us out.) Forget CL for a couple of years. Perhaps FFP will level the playing field a bit more in the years ahead where italy and esp Milan can come back.
All this said, I still expect us to nab a quality LCM before the summer is over - so keep your heads up!
would any of you like to sign nasri?

I would but it's as far away as Cesc was..not as expensive but I don't think he'd go if Milan Utd City Barca Real whoever offered what Arsenal want and the same money I could swear on my life he wouldnt join Milan.
Seems like Ancelotti will be managing PSG smart move.
Roma are looking at Thiago Alcantra , similar to the Bojan deal.I think with some of these signings Sanchez Cesc letting Bojan and maybe Thiago go for money but then taking them back.I think in maybe 2 year's that they may cash in on Messi for ridiculous money. And pay off that debt or most of it with the money , while still having a shit hot team.
They FFP will help but I doubt it will Balance things out. At the end, the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer. Especially the EPL teams where on average generates the most income out of the top leagues.
At the end, I think the mid and low level players, ie squad players and players who r just solid will lose out due to Clubs not offering them money.
Small clubs will suffer from not able to sell their star plyers for high fees. Thus they might be force to sell their star players on the cheap or early due to fear of losing them for nothing. It will be hard to see teams that build around young players and challenge the league, since they will most likely sell those young players the moment they shine. Basically what Udinese is doing now.

FFP will make things WAY WAY worse for us. We don't own our own stadium, therefore less revenue, therefore we can spend less. It will be a disaster for us. This was our last chance to spend €€€€€ and we didn't. Seedorf/Rino/MvB/Boateng is our Diamond midfield... CL will look ugly ugly ugly like last year....
Even Serie A won't be easy .... Inter always toughs it out, Napoli are balanced, and Roma and Juventus have certainly improved. Berlusconi has really dropped the ball here...After winning the Scudetto just getting 2 guys for Free was not enough.
Oh, and by the way, not only did we not re-new midfield, we lost Merkel & Strasser HAHA... what kind of a stupid joke was that?
This day just keeps getting better, huh?
