Eh I'd say it's quite different. Look at how much money United had to spend this transfer window they bought players for present/future (Pogba, Mykhitarian, etc) but also had enough budget to get Zlatan who is a very short-term fix. It worked for them because they had the money to buy for both the present and future.

If we had done the same then we'd likely only be able to afford Zlatan which means we'd be in the same shit two years down the road. With a limited budget, better look long-term and build a solid foundation instead IMO.

I don't even think we can afford Ibrahimovic now as a short-term fix, financially. I do agree with you that Manchester United has the luxury to afford both long-run and short-run solutions, and agree that we have to look forward.

I just still can't believe that we let him go, let alone so cheaply. The rumor (probably not true) that in order to get rid of him, we had to sell Thiago Silva in a bundle particularly angers me. Ibrahimovic seems to always appreciate Milan, maybe we could have lowered his salary somehow and kept him in the side in the past four seasons. Or, we could always get rid of a few dead woods and use the savings to fund Ibrahimovic.

At least, we would be playing in CL still, and that money alone would have paid for Ibrahimovic.

Leicester 0 0 Arsenal. I only saw the last 20-25 minutes as I was mostly watching Roma, but both sides went for the game without any real end product. I thought Leicester could have won it towards the end, but failed to convert their chances and denied what I thought was a penalty for a foul on Musa.

With that kind of performance, Leicester will struggle badly. Arsenal too, their game slightly came to life only when Oezil came on. Wow I think the fans are right to be pissed with Wenger, got money but signed only Xhaka.

Probably my favourite coach ever since I've started watching football. Some part of me is thinking that he's biding his time doing this stint in England while the Chinese takeover happens. Then he'll come here and lead Milan to glory .

Seriously speaking, Milan is probably the most "Pep-like" club in Italy given our history and traditions/style in playing football. He has done Spain, Germany, England. Italy HAS to be next..
