If I was Milan management and a lawyer came to me saying Milan are involved in this at all I would laugh.

AC Milan and Leao renewal terms have been said to be as follows:
Milans offer will be a 4 year contract for 4.5m euros. The ask was for a larger figure however Milan + former club Lille are apparently paying the 19.5m fine which also takes Leao off the hook for certain liabilities hence the agreement at a lower than demanded salary.

Basically reading around exactly what you posted above. Even if we pay half that 19.5m it still leaves us in a position where Leao is costing us quite a bit. He's worth it fine but hopefully he realizes what we're doing to keep him lol

This is a better deal for us than paying the 7M net Mendes wants.

I am a little surprised that we didn't try to offer him a 5-year contract?

We need some good news regarding this guy soon. Is it so quiet because we have given up on keeping him?

"Leao has made his desire to stay at Milanello clear but the demand is €6m net per season plus bonuses."

Just like Kessié...

Leao must paid Sporting 20% of his wage.

So the problem is not just about greediness.
