Ignazio Abate

I think Abate just needs to be call up to the National team. The fact that he is not even on the team is a mystery, since the all the RBs are not that good.

First, let me be clear. I like Abate a lot.

Then, this question: has he ever dribbled past any player? I mean, not 'kick the ball far and run past the opponent' type of dribbing. I am not saying that he should dribble when he is defending, but when he goes forwards attacking and crossing, it would greatly help if he could dribble.

Just curious.

Yesterday, he successfully "dribbled" a couple of times in the second half by cutting in to the middle of the pitch.

And he has done this before in other games too.

Thanks. I am hoping that he will one day become our "new Cafu" or "new Tassotti" or even "new Panucci".

If he could replace Maggio as the RB in the NT, that would certainly help him grow tremendously. Confidence, and more opportunities to face stronger opponents, but stupid Prandelli, what's his problem with Milan? I am amazed that Zambrotta is in a higher pecking order than Abate in the NT, while at the club, it is exactly the opposite.

Italy will play against Poland and Uruguay, both friendlies.
