Gerard Pique faces lengthy ban


Barcelona defender Gerard Pique faces a ban of up to 12 games after being sent-off against Athletic Club in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup last night.

This has been reported by the Mirror, who claim that the Spanish international stunned the linesman last night by screaming "I s*** on your w**** of a mother" after the assistant failed to produce the flag over a close offside decision.

It appears, then, that Pique could face a lengthy spell out on the sidelines, with the LFP recognising abuse towards officials as a serious offence.

However, with the same report claiming that last night was Pique's first offence in terms of abusing the officials, he may only face a four-game sanction. 

One thing's for sure, the LFP have a big decision to make, with the Barcelona man likely to miss between four and 12 games at the start of this campaign.

The previous coach had been having trouble for quite some time now so his resignation is no surprise.

However, this is certainly a big step for him. I hope he's not like Moyes and actually learns the language, culture, etc. Heard reports that Moyes did very little of that.
