Matteo Gabbia

I agree. I don't think he was bad at all. Even in the games that he was criticized much, I thought he was solid. In the past two games (Atalanta, Sampdoria), he was really good, even with the clumsy and unlucky deflection off him that led to Zapata goal.

He was just unlucky (in many games! Poor kid. LOL). Of course, that could have an impact on the young defender, and that probably showed. With time, however, I am convinced that he will grow into a reliable defender for us.

I am rooting for him too! Smile

He is surely pretty good defender, gotta need more confidence rather being shaky in the match, pretty good at aerial but need to improve in winning ground duel and tackles. But he is improving by every passing match.

we forget that poor Gabbia was playing out of position for last 2 games but still he settled very quickly Okmilan, Another thing that we should not forget is that he came directly from Serie C and transition from Serie C to Serie A is very tough but still he had managed it quite well, He would be very important if we have to succeed in Europa.
Anyway he was actually a midfielder 2-3 years ago in his youth days.

More and more confident. I hope he continues his growth process next season. If he is to be 3rd choice, then he should stay. But as 4th, I'd rather loan him out. We are seeing first hand how much actual game time can improve a player. Not so much physical attributes, but rather tactical and especially mental. Therefore, it won't do him good to be on the bench for prolonged periods as 4th choice, waiting for scrap 5 mins here or there.

The kid's a true milanista. I'm rooting for him!

The kid needs some consistent game time. Either keep him and give him that, or send him somewhere in the Serie A that will play him regularly.

Yeah. I hope he did not get it from our players but from U21.
