it is ironic that we wanted to 'get rid of' him because of his high salary. iirc, he was priced at about 10M when he was included in the bundle with Thiago Silva.

It comes after Napoli reportedly offered Ibrahimovic an 18-month contract before head coach Ancelotti was sacked following the club's Champions League victory on Tuesday.

Ibrahimovic is a free agent, having left LA Galaxy in MLS at the end of the American season in October. 

The Swedish striker spent two seasons for Milan, initially on loan from Barcelona before making a permanent move. He scored 42 goals in 61 games for the club.

The Ibrahimovic-Milan saga continues. 
As the January window is just around the corner, the Rossoneri are eager to move forward with their plans, but the Swedish striker hasn't exactly been quick in responding to their offer.

There are no ultimatums or deadlines from Milan's side, but if Ibrahimovic's response doesn't arrive in the upcoming days, with the latest day being the 23rd, the Rossoneri will withdraw their offer. 
Therefore, they won't wait for their former man forever.

It was believed Ibrahimovic would be heading back to Milan, where he previously bagged 56 goals in 85 appearances before leaving for Paris St-Germain in 2012.

Yet reports now suggest a return to the San Siro is not on the cards after he was left disappointed with their offer of £1.7m over the course of 18 months.

And it seems Ancelotti will make Ibrahimovic one of the first signings of his second spell in the English top-flight.

The pair have worked together in the past, clinching the French title with PSG in 2012/13.
