Summer Mercato 2011
We have to read Galliani's interview in context.

"If none of our top players leave, we will buy only a left mezz'ala" ( the original interview can be seen here: http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/SerieA/Mil...4428.shtml)

The assumption is that both Seedorf and Ambrosini sign a new contract (which he says he expects) and that no one else leaves; Gattuso comes to mind. In that case we will only see a new player. If however one of those three players leaves, then we should be getting another player to replace them. The same is true for attack. If our forwards all stay, there isn't going to be a new player brought in.

Also consider that he denied Hamsik, Pastore and Ganso because they are "key players of their respective teams and we wont get any discounts/gifts". This leads me to believe that Berlusconi might sign us one of them or similar. If he decides to, he could even buy us 10 new players. But as Allegri has said, Berlusconi will make him a gift.

So we will probably be getting a mezz'ala with "our" money, so we wont be spending much and then Berlu will gift us some "champion".

Just as I thought, Ambrosini will be the CDM backup for Van Bommel. Smart move by Allegri. Ambro can also play in other positions if we have injuries, of course.

1 Midfielder though may not be enough. Something tells me that "1" midfielder is to replace Pirlo, and they plan on keeping everyone else (Seedorf). I still like Boateng in Midfield and not as CAM. Could this be true that Boateng will be our Starting CAM for next few years or is this smoke screen for something else?????

I don't really believe what Galliani says to the press, more than in his negotiations with clubs and players. I think we'll sign a trequartista and one midfielder if Seedorf stays (hopefully not) or 2 of he goes.

"didn't show up for his own weeding?" and "lazy attitude"? LOL.. Turns out our coach has a more colorful character than his calm composure by the sideline suggests Big Grin

Cappello, who was the coach who took him (and sent him back home Big Grin) during that summer tour said Allegri has (mentally) grown up a lot ...

Elmago, one thing for sure is that Boateng already stated that he likes that position and will fight to be a starter as our CAM no matter who comes ... That's good anyway if we have players wanting to fight for their position, competition is good for the level of the team. Just imagine we get Ganso for example, if he gets a small injury, then Boateng would be his replacement, and as a consequence, he would give his all to keep that place even after the injury of the other player. Si I'm all for a new CAM in Milan !!

Even if we only get one midfielder, let's not forget we already secured the arrivals of Mexes and Taiwo.

Anyway, there are rumours about Cassano wanting to leave to secure his spot with the Italian NT and because he would feel a bit "bad" because of the natural hierarchy and the rules in Milan ... If that's true, it would be better to let him go before seeing him become mad again and damage the ambiancy in the team. And like I've never been convinced by Cassano since he arrived in Milan (he never played like in Sampdoria), I'm all for his sale !!
One should not speak ill of the dead.
So stop laughing at Juventus !
I want Competition for the CAM spot and I don't mind if Boateng plays there once in a while. But taking the next step I don't think Boateng should be the CAM from the Management's stand point. I would prefer Fabregas, Pastore, Ganso, Lamela, Honda, or maybe even Nasri.

In terms of Cassano, I wouldn't mind seeing him go although he's our only Italian Attacker. I don't know who we would replace him with.

But as much as i like him as a WC player i wouldnt really want him in Milan coz of two simple reasons. 1. He loves Barca. 2. Bringing him in would cost us a lot while we could easily use that money to get a real quality CAM and LCM for that kind of money.

What he said!Okmilan

Seriously, we need TWO midfielders, an LCM and a ACM. If we can get a versatile LCM that can fill in at ACM that would provide us with enough cover to let a player like Ganso or Lamela to develop.
umm fabregas would be a class LCM for us...

where else do you think he'd play? He'd play seedorf's role essentially, orchestract attack from CM. LCM, CM, RCM doesn't matter... it'd be Fabregas, Van Bommel, Boateng. Looks balanced and awesome to me

BTW this is just galliani speak. We'll get both an AM and a mezz'ala type. I'm positive. We were looking for an AM before. Now that pirlo's gone we need to replace him too.
---
BTW, people r ridiculous for criticizing Cassano's play. He never got a consistent run and had 7 assists in 820 minutes. That's ridiculous. He has won us many points when he came on and delivered decisive pass. He's a natural trequartista. Just not a CAM. But playing him off of a CF garentee's service. Name one CF who he's played with who hasn't scored a lot?

As for inconsistency. He's more consistent than Kaka was for his last 2 years, more consistent than ronaldinho was. In general, these type of players lack consistency.

That all said, he is an attractive chip. We got him for nothing and this is key, he is also on low wages for a player of his caliber, and if including him helps us get Pastore, Sanchez or Hamsik (all difficult) I wouldn't be opposed. He's nice to have on the bench, but not irreplaceble.
By the way maybe Brasilero can offer clarity. There are rumors Carlos Eduardo may leave Rubin Kazan for Brazil? He's had problem with weather and staying fit in russia? IMO he'd be an awesome CAM for us. Hard working player who takes up a lot of positions, and left footed (something we need).

To be honest, I'm loving Allegri's ideas. He seems to prefer a hard working CAM to a trequartista. A player like Hamsik for ex. I get it too, he wants a CAM who drops and helps and takes up different positions, allowing the mezz'ala's to overlap, like seedorf/boateng do. It's less predictable, and harder to defend. It's a good idea because class 4-3-1-2 is near dead in europe, it's too hard to play that way, unless the player is very dynamic and you get dynamic movement from forwards (like when we had kaka and sheva/tommasson often looked more like a 4-3-2-1)
Well said CA Rossonero

In terms of Cassano, there is no doubt he is quality. However, he may want to be a starter, and he will not have that guaranteed here. Our priority of strikers as of now is as follows:
Ibra
Pato
Robinho
Cassano & Inzaghi

------------------------------------------------------

I agree about an ACM & LCM needed. I like Boateng in midfield. I also like Allegri's tactic of a hard working ACM with 2 dynamic midfielders able to interchange and make runs in the box. They must also be able to defend well. It's also nice when you have:

If we do sell flamini, we can expect atleast 1 more mid. In my opinion we'll get 2 eitherway, if flamini or seedorf go, maybe 3? Galliani is just playing posture game he always does

As for seedorf, i think he wants to start. I think Allegri likes him, but doesn't think he can physically start for whole season, wants him more as depth (which i agree with)
haha i'll tell my friend Michi (Mkidj) he is now a MM news source Big Grin

anyway i've just heard of an interview thats taken place with Galliani in Milan at the D&G fashion evening, hes hinted yet again at Robben or Cesc, he said its possible for one of them to join.
