"don't like Barcelona" is such a modest expression of feelings these days for any Milan fan.

So Real Madrid lost today and mathematically have no chance of winning La Liga anymore. The final match between Barcelona will decide the winner of La Liga. Any result other than a Barcelona victory crowns Atletico champions. Real Madrid will still want to win their game because if Barcelona loses then Madrid jumps to 2nd place and avoids going through qualification for the CL.

La Liga is amazing. Top 3 have been playing like they don't want to win the league. All loses and draws...

Madrid will surely do all they can to finish ahead of Barca regardless, but 3rd place in La Liga equals a place in the group stages, not qualification. Anyway, I hope Atletico can go and do the Double. Would be the greatest football achievement since I don't know when.

Ohhhh really? I never knew that..thought all leagues with 4 CL participants had 2 automatically go through to group stages and 2 go through the qualification rounds (like Italy was some years ago). Thanks for the correction!

Atletico did it. However anybody may feel about them, a big day for the team.
Today's game is Atletico whole season in microcosm. Their dream seemed to be heading for tragic ending when they lost Costa and Turan early in the first half, and then trailed one goal down. Everybody has been waiting for their weaknesses like relatively thin squad to catch up with them but like Simeone said after the game against Chelsea, his players are born with big balls and it shows. They levelled the scoreline from a set-piece, defended brilliantly, and fought for the ball like their lives depend on it.

They deserve the trophy.
I longed for a team that could rival Real and Barca, but I just feel blank now.

congratulations to atletico madrid. they deserve the trophy. i don't like simeone, but i certainly don't mind the team. if they didn't eliminate milan (which made me feel sour), i would have supported them all the way in all tournaments.
