You guys misunderstand allegri's midfield. He wants 4 midfielders attacking and defending. The only defined one is anchor. We could easily have a winger if he's hardworking play mezz'ala or AM. He doesn't want pure trequartisa....
I mean there is no other coach on earth who would play boateng more advanced than seedorf but he did.
If we did get a winger player we are linked too, they'd play boateng's role....

If you notice, he wants his AM dropping all over the place and going wide right. Both Zlatan and Robinho in support role naturally float left, so at times it looks like 4-3-3 between the 3 or a 4-3-2-1.
When they go wide, this creates space for mezza'la's runs, like we saw with seedorf and even gattuso
. But they are also expected to be tactically intelligent and NEVER do both attack at once... when seedorf pushes forward, gattuso drifts back and it looks like a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-2-2-2
